I would have thought a commercial first season stallion with 120 mares could have done a it better than 6 yearlings in bk2. Paco oy got 32.

I think that Showcasing got off to a shaky start and that perhaps rolled over to yearling selection perhaps.

I know that Ger Morrin who sold the high priced one tonight thought that he was the nicest foal on foal day 2 last year but light pedigree aside, that was obviously as far as the stallion could go last year.

I think they have improved plenty all the way along - they were certainly unimpressive as new borns - and he seems to be on a bit of a roll that has taken many by surprise.

I've a feeling they are going to run truehonch, so if you are in the pipeline I wouldn't be disheartened by previous Luke warm signals.

thanks PotM. I am not in the pipeline as such but think I am going to take a gamble on him with one this year.

Paco Boys are going to have to run very well as almost universally poorly received not least because they are 'mental'.  Could well see a few nice Showcasings breezing ;)

Equianos got a big thumbs up. Nice early types, right sire line, all the right owners/trainers.

Makfi....glad I've not got one in the oven at 25k.  By contrast fair play to PD Choisir now an inspired first season (second time around) choice.

Yer Ma

instead of putting that Makfi through the ring just give Rabbah a call, the result will probably be the same.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Showcasing yearlings. Putting the big prices fetched in Book 1 & 2 to one side, even the fillies with poor pedigrees in Book 3 were making around 15-23K. I made sure I had a look at most of them around the pre-parade and think it is mainly down to the fact that they all seemed to walk well.

Also liked the Zebedee's, they look fast to me.

Didnt fancy the Paco's. So many seemed to have some sort of issue or other.

Wilycayote,

there are a lot of showcasing fillies in the foal sales. there might be an angle there for someone!
