Aegaeus??? Probably should be capable of better but his best runs been on polytrack, maybe Mr Dunlop uses it too much at home, or maybe needs lightning fast ground like Ouija Board. As for the first run of the filly, slow to start and had no cover, seemed to travel okay and looked very fir for first run before the off, hence why she was well backed but may need a good bit further than 10f too, be interesting to see how Mr.O'Brien goes with the Galileo colt he purchased from tatts from the mare, called it Australia i think. nice1

Voodoo Prince has some ability but so far her progeny seem a bit slow.

Voodoo a bit of a rogue being out of Kingmambo tho that explains that one, Ouija not from great stock tho so maybe she will never prodeuce one as good as she was. Think they should try Frankel and STS and Galileo with a mile n half top class filly could actually produce a Northumberland plate winner

Don't think they will take her to STS! Both are by Cape Cross. Judging by the progeny to date, I would choose some speed such as Exceed and Excel or Oasis Dream. Frankel is unproven and just as likely to produce stayers like his brother as good mile/10 furlong horses.

Good point how about trying some american influence with her ? or perhaps Giants Causeway with the storm cat in their, could be worth a try? I see the O'Brien colt Australia ran well first time out today, got a run into him as a juvenile too, good educational run it looked?

Sageform makes a very good point re covering her with speed influences. However Exceed and Excel may just be a little too different in terms of trip. Personally I would choose Invincible Spirit over Oasis Dream as OD can do a staying type. Invincible Spirit doesn't have an out and out sprint pedigree and has got a good mile to 10f horse in Lawman who has a hint of stamina in his page through Shirley Heights. Saying that, IS would produce 2x3 to Green Desert and this should maximise any speed and hopefully avoid Gold Cup races, either Ascot or Cheltenham. Looking at Ouija Board's page there is enough speed on the bottom line for me to query where this longer trip preference is coming from. Could it be Cape Cross? and what does this factor, plus the so far disappointing results of CC's best daughter say for the chances of CC's best son? As far as today's runner, I would say the trainer is a big factor in getting it out at 2yo'. Coolmore need any commercial stallion to have some 2yo' form and so will push for a run if poss. Perhaps Mr Dunlop is not similarly motivated? Though being sent sons of Kingmambo and Monsun he can perhaps be forgiven It will be interesting to see how the Dubawi fares.

That is a good point with the coolmore, and Dunlop was training for her owner and isnt particularly a big juvenile trainer, is the Dubawi this years yearling ? Filly or Colt? Like Dubawi as a sire but has had two poor efforts with CC, but with US influence on the dams side, only one winner from five although two have had only one run so far.

Prima Donna, I agree that IS is another psoobility but exceed and Excel produces good milers and feom a stayiong mare he could produce a 10 furlong horse. I know it is a long time to find out your mistakes with horses but the evidence suggests that some speed is required.

sageform, I feel we are singing from the same hymn sheet here. If you are in any doubt of my thoughts re 'the need for speed' in pedigrees I suggest you read ANY of my posts EVER It is something some breeders find very hard to catch on to..............

Sorry bananaoasis, the Dubawi is this years colt foal. May help speed it up but not necessarily add precocity. we'll know the answer in a couple of years time

Thanks Donna, is precocity another word for speed and how about putting a bit of Acclamation in their ? Acclamation had plenty of speed in their til he was 4yo?

Not everyones cup of tea, but I'd look at Acclamation or also if inbreeding to Ahonoora is ok New Approach. Fastnet Rock?

bananaoasis,Yes precocity means how early it is,how soon into its 2 y'old year its ready for the racecourse.Hope that helps answer your question

Thankyou Donna, precocity is spotted by a trained eye then i guess? or a trip to the breeze ups Are speedy mixes eg. Bahamian Bounty with say Primo Dominie more likely precocious to do with the speed influence then ?

A lot down there still believe in this fella so be prepared for the best ever, the numbers on the clock, speed etc etc
