remote another winner for dansili wd sageform

It didn't just win, it must have destroyed its handicap and have to go for a Listed next. I was amazed how easy it was to back after it won so easily at Newbury.
By:
Dansili is quiet on the stakes front

Oasis Dream had the vast majority of his wins from June to September last year and with 3 already, he is my tip to dominate the sire table this month. They tend to prefer good fast ground.

WD again sageform wedding ring wins 8/1 SP beats stable mate (oasis dream)
By:
Don't remind me-I missed that one. He had 3 more wins on Saturday, Nocturn, Mutafaakir and Floating Along. Professor (Byron) continued his improvement.
By:
Lyric Ballad amazingly easy to back in a race that Hughie Morrison would surely have plotted up. Another improving 3yo by Byron.
By:
should of checked that, missed that one. looks a good horse. cant win them all

pategonia should hopefully have a good season (oasis dream)

2 weeks into June and Exceed and Excel is the first to get 10 GB wins in the month, just ahead of Oasis Dream on 9 and Acclamation on 8. Excellent Art on 7 has suddenly woken up after a slow start to the year.

The more I see of the form of Remote's 2 races the more convinced I am that he is a Group horse in the making. John Gosden is not quite at peak form yet this season but Remote has trotted up in a good maiden and then a handicap from Baltic Knight who beat older horses in a Listed yesterday. Retirement Plan was a very long way behind him at Newbury but still won a decent maiden today.

your professor is turning into a real money spinner, my type of horse
good winner for dansili earlier.agree about remote, looks a good horse. MOVIESTA the winners that have been coming from those races, unreal winnners galore, first time seen the horse race on saturday, what a fighter. |
By:
Flintshire is another lovely prospect for Dansili. He won the Prix du Lys at Chantilly very easily. Shame he is in France.
By:
that race was talking about, the MOVIESTA race, penny garcia was in that race, just won today 16/1 sp
By:
Oasis Dream and Exceed and Excel now tied on 13 wins each in GB this month. Both are now closing fast on Byron who is still in the lead for the year.
Byron 48 Exceed and Excel 46 Invincible Spirit 46 Oasis Dream 43 Dansili 40 |
By:
Another winner each for Oasis Dream and Exceed and Excel at Ascot today-they really are on fire. I didn't back Belgian Bill unfortunately.
By:
my favourite (oasis dream) won yesterday PAPHOS, has been in the notebook for months, only realized
was by that sire last night, cracking horse, still well treated on the turf, has higher rating on AW. another good horse is DRESDEN won twice now 25/1 and 12/1 recently, only 5yo and lightly raced. gl |

By:
A few interesting runners today. It could be Dansili/Abdulla day with Winsili, Riposte, So Beloved and Remote all with chances. Newstead Abby (Byron) and Haaf a Guinea and Pasaka Boy (Haafhd) also of interest. Shame 4 of them are in the Britannia.

notebook winner remote
made mistake with winsili, was no value and drifted, still happy this one got the win. |

By:
dansili's picked up a bit now

dansili's picked up a bit now

I backed Winsili and Riposte equal stakes so happy with that and of course Remote although the price was so poor I had much less on than I had planned. Wonderful success again for Juddmonte pedigrees.
By:
Going back to my post on june 1, I thought Remote would have to move up to listed but they bypassed that and went Group 3.
By:
Just when you expect the big guns to come past Byron he pops up with 2 more today albeit at a low level. He is the first to sire 50 GB wins this year. To put that into perspective, he only had 41 in the whole of last year.
By:
MOVIESTA finally this horse has got the win it deserves, and group 2 class amazing.
what a fighter |

Hard Spun is an American sire by Danzig who is also responsible for Questing and Red Clubs. As you say, Moviesta has done really well and like Annecdote, has thrived on racing. Although the top sires still dominate, others can still make an impact at Group level. Shirocco had 2 group winners in 35 minutes on Thursday and a maiden at Nottingham in between!
By:
just reliazed yesterday horse was a hard spun, good sire. best horses are the ones that thrive on racing, after lightening cloud
won at ascot, said to myself going to keep a look out for the progeny of sleeping indian, missed pull the plug big priced winner, since then touch the clouds has been doing well, dont think that sire is very popular, another one is mount nelson, got few good horses. they dont have so many runners, special meaning being the star of the show lately. |
By:
Roadrunner, pleased that you are noting sires still but don't forget that some of the sires you mention stand in US or elsewhere so we only get a small sample of progeny here. Going back another generation, Danzig is one of the biggest influences ever seen in GB and Irish racing. I see in the RP today that Lucky Story is now dead so Annecdote will be very valuable.
By:
winsili wins today, unbeliveble after backing the horse LTO, now goes and wins group 1. its that lucky number 15 strikes again.
By:
mount nelson double in 5 mins, emerging 7/1 and court pastoral 4/5, only had 3 entries today. difficult to top that

The combination of Dansili with Juddmonte mares has been a great success in recent years but particularly with this crop of 3yo's. Flintshire, Remote, Riposte, Disclaimer, Winsili are all homebreds rated 105+. Other owners have the likes of Nevis, Vancouverite and Zibelina. And those are just the 3yo's! I am really looking forward to seeing Zibelina run again. Godolphin seem very keen on Street Cry and had 2 decent winners by him at Newmarket today plus Winterlude at Doncaster. They may lack Group 1 contenders but after the chaos early in the season they have an army of above average 2 and 3yo's to run.
By:
some of those are in my notebook, ziblena thats beaten anncedote, just realized that. those are the power houses in the breeding world.
godolphin been cleaning up for ages now, should be still getting lots of winners later on in the autumn according to my trainers statistics 2013 book, suppose was a late summer last year weather wise. ACCLAMATION gets good types, dont know any of the progeny interesting to learn more about those winners. had good winner today hitchens. |

But how many horses of racing age have the above mentioned stallions in training? Your stats are not a fair reflection of the true merit of these stallions.
By:
Then is the trainer or jockey table a fair reflection of their ability? Probably not, but those are the facts that I use to inform my selections. I post them on here as a few people seem to find them interesting and it is hard to get the info without getting Irish stats included as well. Why just Irish and not French, American etc. etc. for the same sires is a mystery. Regarding Dansili, he does have more 3yo's rated above 105 than any other sire.

Then is the trainer or jockey table a fair reflection of their ability?
No it isn't. There are a number of statistics, I can never get my hands on, when it comes to stallions and they are not widely available. You can do some painstaking research and find these stats but they are never published. It suits the stallion owner, the breeder and the vendor for these statistics to be hidden from the general public. For example. Where can I find % of winners to foals of racing age for a particulkar stallion? Where can I find the number of winning fillies and colts for a particular stallion? What percentage of winners want good or soft ground? How many progeny of a particular stallion are in training? They are all very important stats when buying a racehorse but they are hard to find. I see at the start of this thread where Galileo has had 23 wins so far this season (I don't know the number of individual winners). He is regarded by many as a top class stallion but can anyone tell me why he has had so few wins considering, and it is only a guesstimate, he has at least 450 horses of racing age? |
By:
The figure of 23 for Glileo was to end of May. He is currently on 51 GB wins. He is normally on a very low score in the early part of the year as he has few runners and even fewer wins on the AW. He is doing much better than Montjeu or any other Derby winners. Regarding your other questions, there is no substitute for keeping your own records. I update my spreadsheet after each race if I am here or at the end of each day if not, but I only record wins, not age, sex or any other details.

Sleeping Indian is doing well. 32 this year so far compared to 37 in the whole of 2012.
