No real point to this post after reading the news in the RP.
In that august publication I note that the article suggests the 3yo from the mare Morpheus has yet to run. They need to check their Nottingham results me thinks.
Given that the mare has had her finest hour and recent results suggest she is slipping downhill as all mares tend to, how they must have been hoping to get another filly in the bank whilst she is young enough to suggest some talent might still be forthcoming.

as an experienced bloodstock person, can you explain why the bloodstock & breeding community refer to the colour as "Chesnut" while everyone else inc RP refer to it as "Chestnut"
perrydinho,I hadn't noticed that before,but I'd think it's most likely due to the majority of us on here mis-spelling words from time to time!Largely due to us typing away too fast or at other times just plain and simply we don't know the correct spelling.But perhaps the writers are natives to Newmarket or Suffolk as their local breed the famous heavy horse the Suffolk Punch is always 'Chesnut'without the T.That may explain your dilemma!
It may have started with six fingered hands typing in Suffolk but is in every sales catalogue i've seen (inc new Goffs ready to run).

perry, I remember having this discussion when I first had some door signs done with my then signwriter. So, you're going back a bit and therefore the memory is a bit hazy, but in essence I believe that the word has been bastardised in recent times with the addition of the T and no surprise, the racing industry remain with the traditional.
Perhaps it's a bit like 'Functionality' when the word Function is quite sufficient and quite correct. MAN does that one p1ss me off
