Unsound. Rated 117. 28,000 N/S St Leger yearling Sire once again back into the realms of reality.
If he was by Green Desert from the Allegretta crowd then I'd be happy with him and I'd find 7k. He isn't though and I think I will still be expected to come up with such a sum.
Right now, lack of prospects, make it pretty easy to market these individuals and I'm trying to remember that his type is unlikely to pepper my mares with new black type before getting carried away in the rush.
I'm with you PM. I'm sorry, but I think that Acclamation is a one season wonder and maybe the moons aligned last year to the effect that all of his runners hit the board. He is vastly overpriced on his overall stud record and does nothing to enhance the breed in general. I don't think a horse such as Lilbourne Lad is worthy of a place at stud and the same applies to Harbour Watch, who for all his undoubted promise, only ever beat one horse of note in Caspar Netscher.
Guess that cancels my invite to the Rathbarry Christmas party.

But now that they are definitely standing him, can we assume that they will give up on Strong Suit as that project seems to have gone South?
cant make my mind up on this guy.But now that they are definitely standing him, can we assume that they will give up on Strong Suit as that project seems to have gone South?
Good Lord. I've just read the Tweenhills news feed on the stud website.
I fear that my guess at 7k was a little silly. Mind you as I thought that Makfi should have been about 15k perhaps I shouldn't be too surprised.
He wasn't so fabulously well bred or good looking as a St Leger yearling to find a new home - and presumably he looked quite sound back then too.
I await a fee in due course Mr Redvers - but I'm not holding my breath.
I aggree with YOU Johnny M. The fee trajectory of Acclamation over the years has been positively embarressing and I imagine as it hurtles back down it will remain equally variable!

I am not sure that my opinion has changed very much but I suppose the rise and rise of Dark Angel is a point in his favour.
I think that a good crop of first foals will keep him popular though. Long term who knows but there are plenty of scrubily bred sprint types making progress - Dark Angel, Dutch Art to name but two.
Roy jones, I knew this thread was somewhere.I am not sure that my opinion has changed very much but I suppose the rise and rise of Dark Angel is a point in his favour.I think that a good crop of first foals will keep him popular though. Long term who

thanks for your help....... AND i think HW had way better pedigree than dark angel i am impressed by his 3 wins, the margin of winning (beating very very easily GR2 horses on such short distance)
at under 10 K there is not such a choice actually!!
