a G1 2yo winner and a G2 winner today in Oz. How far can this stallion go?

I think he can go to the top,this stallion is looking more and more like a very serious prospect,like Castiron says a top three sire.The point I think he's making when comparing Fastnet Rock with Exceed and Excel is the fact E and E has done very well reaching forward from a lowly start becoming a great sire one who is very much in demand,whereas Fastnet Rock has had an immediate impact from mid range mares with the mares he's been having over here of late I reckon he will scale the sires table very quickly and like Castiron also say's he is fast becoming the late Danehill's best stallion son,watch this space.And that's saying something as I'm one of the biggest fans of the brilliant Danehill Dancer!I'm very glad Coolmore had the nowse to stand him here in Ireland,I like him very much.........even with his plain old bonce!

I too think Fastnet Rock can become terrific over here. I don't know so though!

There is definitely frequently a disparity though in how a particular sire settles in in both hemispheres which is why I highlighted off the top of my head, stallions who operate in different ways here and there.

He is an example of that incredible Aussie 'Strength' (Noggin and all!) so I suppose he represents a quite clear sign of the way that the two hemisphere's thoroughbreds have diverged slightly. That strength could be most useful to us - but will it definitely knit well? Or will we see him as more influential a generation removed?

I'm guessing you already know this, but others most likely dont.

Even though Fastnet Rock's two Group One wins were at distances shorter than 6f, his best progeny by far are from mares with a stamina background.

For this very reason, he should love this opportunity.

He's like the best commercial sires in that respect isn't he Castiron in fact just like Dad in that ability to put speed onto stout families as our Hardy annuals D.D., Piv and Oasis Dream can also do.

I would imagine I would be looking to use his fast sons at stud though if it all goes according  to 'Plan Coolmore'. Then I feel I'm getting the unadulterated Daddy!

Pot M,If Fastnet Rock goes on the way we all hope and it looks very much like he will then I'd guess plenty of breeders would also want a son of his,us being no exception!Perhaps the one advantage he holds over Pivotal is he does at least get precocious runners.

Just wondering if the the Northern Hemisphere mares have a higher Northern Dancer content in the pedigrees than their counterparts down-under and what effect this will have with conformation ect.
A quick over-view ,he does seem to have an affinity for the dam sire mares with Sir Tristam/Nureyev/Storm Cat .

Havent Coolmore been very busy buying his stock down under the past few years. Can they not ship them up here?? and if not where have they been going??. Atlantic Jewel aside

I cant imagine that Proxy being an issue.

Certainly has the South won over...Surprising no sign of him up here. I guess they have a few other sires on there plate

Had a new Group 1 winner on Saturday, when the three year old filly, Sea Siren, beat the older sprinters, in Brisbane.

Ninth Legion looks another sort to go well in the future.

Yes, beat the older sprinters again, and became the first 3yo filly to win this high class race.

FR has three world class fillies, in Atlantic Jewel, Sea Siren and Mosheen, in this three year old crop.

She was his 6th Group One winner for the season, a feat Danehill only accomplished the once in Australia.

A new Group 1 winner today, when his  three year old daughter, Nechita, outclassed the colts in the $500,000 Coolmore Stud Stakes.

Showed the trademark, Fastnet Rock acceleration to race away in the last furlong.

Looks like the F-Rock fillies are pretty special with the first two places in the big Gr 1 sprint.

More surprising to me was Fastnet Rocks filling 3 out of the first 5 places in the Victoria Derby over 1m4f!! Seems he's becoming the Galileo of Down Under.

What sort of money is a FR nom up here?

None of the FR's stayed the distance. Their class helped them get there.

It will be interesting to see whether his NH foals can get a Derby trip.

I should have added, it was  Redoutes Choice colt that hit the line, full of running.

Aidan will have around a  dozen FR juveniles next year including a sibling to Kingsbarns

To name just a few of the 180 something mares!...Coolmore must have some serious faith in him to get the goods up here.

They are a top class operation Wilycayote, but who else do they really have to push at the minute with anything like his profile? PM and RVW are good prospects but I think they are more likely to get a possible top class stallion from FR.
