they've got to be having a laugh. Hope this isnt going to be a season of headline prices and hard haggling. Acca at 35k is probably justified but will need a classic winner next year to justify (likely I grant you). Like PotM I cant believe breeders have stomach for significant rises if at all. I'll not even bother asking for a discount on Exceed & Excel if there's bods happy to pay the same for Dark Angel

Dark Angel has had a smashing 1st season. One listed winner and another 3 stakes placed. He has 4 horses rated over 100 too. I think very respectable and really justifying a fee of 5 or 6000 Euros. I note that he has only managed 2 winners in the UK or Ireland in the last 2 months though, when obviously the better 2yo's make things a bit more competitive.
I think that is one of the limiting factors that show me that the silly billy saying 12500 is just pulling our leg isn't he sammy f ????

i dont really know but its on there website. 12.5 k is a right old price but i agree he has done really well and they did sell well this year as well.
i also hear libourne lad is going to be 7500 euros-whats everyone think of that?

I'm afraid it beggars belief. I think D A is nailed on as Bertolini II and that's where his fee should be.
Lillbourne Lad is a little spicey perhaps but I can't get too worked up about it. I wonder if Acclamation back up at 35 will be another boom and bust, like when he went there before! Let's hope he can string together a consistent run this time.

I've no plans this way but I think I'd make a better fist of lib lad at 7.5k first season unknown than 12.5k DA 4 seasons in. Just be too many sons of acclamation on the market then and his lesser specimens bred to better mares as well. I refuse to worry about this until after the foals are away!

So much for improving the breed if this sort of horse, who was short of top-class as a 2-y-o and whose connections obviously didn`t expect him to train on is being touted at that sort of price !
