Is this the most obscure Group 1 winner's pedigree of all time? By Even Top who was a decent racehorse, but according to the RP database, he has only sired one other flat winner and only 14 runners since 1997! 15 jump winners a bit more respectable but nothing at all in the pedigree to suggest that Cirrus could be any better than an 80 rated handicapper. Meanwhile just to prove that it is more often better to use the best sires, Frankel and Together landed 2 more Group 1 races for Galileo.

One for the Byerley Turk and oddly he had another one in Deacon Blues.

But Even Top's percentage of Gp1 winners to foals is probably better than Galileo's Sageform. Sureley that makes E.T. the better sire doesn't it? Laugh

As he stood in France the RP won`t have most of his runners on their database. Can`t have been very prolific though. Great pity he`s a gelding. The Byerley Turk male line is I think dead worldwide except through Indian Ridge`s few sons at stud.

Good point SS, but I think that my main point stands. If ET had sired any other significant flat winners they would appear on the RP database. potm, do you know how many foals he produced? There might be hundreds in riding schools all over France Happy

No idea what Even Top is up to. He stands under the French National stud banner so I daresay he hacks round the provinces and covers what ever stands at the field gate!

Even Top died in 2009. As for the Byerley Turk line, its still just about extant. Indian Ridge has Compton Place, Linngari, Namid, Domedriver, Indian Haven, Sleeping Indian, Indian Rocket and Definite Article at stud.
Two sons of Inchinor, Notnowcato and Orientor stand in England.
'92 Derby winner Dr Devious might still be in Italy.
Discover D'Auteuil, a grandson of Misti is in France.
Rubiton has a few sons standing in Australia.
Insatiable, a son of Dont Forget Me is in Ireland, he sired Remember Rose, one of the top 5 NH earners of all time.
There might be a descendants of Symboli Rudolf in Japan, and there's certainly a few fairly obscure stallions in South America.

Yes. I keep forgetting about Inchinor. Those two were fairly late ones of his I think.
