I think he's a bit tricky.

I don't see him being a great fit at Banstead as his type usually get sold to an independant and as you say truehoncho, he is running out of time to make the breakthrough. 1st and 2nd dams by Distant View and Nashwan are a bit of a blip in my eyes too.

Plenty of appeal in a fast son of Dansili to me though and I imagine there will be a desirable one along fairly soon. Zoffany and Delegator types who can string together a bit of consistency would be really popular for sure.

I agree that unless he wins a big race or 2 it is unlikely he will stand at Banstead and as you say his first and second dam sires are not highly fasionable, but I wouldn't have them down as a big negative.

Zoffany will undoubtably stand in Ireland which would rule him out for me. I'm not sure Delegator is a better choice than BB, the fact that he ran as a 2yo will help him but he didn't win much and he certainly isn't improving.

I dont see any other fast sons of Dansili coming through that may stand in the UK at a cheapish price, which is why I posted about BB. He strikes me as very genuine with a good strike rate and with 2 narrow defeats to Dream Ahead he has good Group 1 form. I think one of the independent studs could do well with him as a cheaper option.

I don't know but he'd have very little appeal for me,what are you going to get using him?A sprinter or miler or a ten furlong horse.Don't forget Dansili is not a sire who is short of stamina and then add in Nashwan who I'd agree with Pot M is a negative,doubt he would be much use even though he is a son of Dansili.Zoffany will be far more commercial as he unlike BB was a 2'y old and a GR1 winner but I also think that unless Z improves he can only be cheap.
As for Delegator well he looking less like he is worth using,his connections never seem to have a commercial head as they perhaps should of had him off to stud 2 years ago just as Dansili was taking off,they may do just the same again with Poet's Voice who would of been very popular this year as a first season son of Dubawi standing for less than Makfi as it is his form is going to pot and again all breeders see is a beaten runner.

Not much support for BB on here then. Reading the comments it seems his only chance is to put together a couple of G1 wins, even then the impression I get from these responses is that there wont be a huge queue for him.

I seem to remember two years ago we were discussing whether Main Aim and Zacinto would be going to stud. I don't think if they had retired to stud, as fashionable as their sires are, and as nice as their pedigrees are (being Juddmonte they're bound to have good pages), any commercial breeder who had foals by them now would be too happy.

Fact is, the sprinting division is pretty desperate and a nearly horse will be forgotten pretty sharpish. By the time you came to sell a Bated Breath yearling in 2014 the sire will be a fading memory.

Agree wholeheartedly with PD's assessment of the questionable Darley policy of allowing a horse to tarnish his reputation before retiring to stud
