Sadly it was moi who described Frankel as a bullock, sorry if that sounded harsh but I was only trying to describe how I saw him, I managed to get within about 2 meters of him and that was how I would best describe him, in layman's terms (the only terms I know being new to the breeding game). He certainly had a real swagger to him like a heavyweight boxer limbering up for a fight. Going one step further on the boxing analogy, Canford Cliffs would be Ali, Frankel would be Tyson.

France would have been nice Prima, but Co. Donegal got the nod with family links to discover and Irish small village culture, history and beautiful beaches to enjoy. But some sunshine wouldn't have gone amiss!
And whilst I'm ranting, I'm not sure I can recommend that Rope Bridge near the Giants Causeway - you know you're in trouble when after making it across a german tourist asks you if you need a doctor  P P and Neil d that boxer analogy isn't putting me off Frankel I'm afraid, I'll chance getting my ear bitten off in the covering shed. Now let me check under the mattress for that 200 quid to make up the stud fee . . . |

I was thinking the same Posh Paddy tbh, that's a good analogy, I'm actually going to try and get a look at the Coolmore stallions at some point in the near future, I presume they do tours and things.

Before we dismiss CC because he is by Tagula, there is plenty of evidence that a sire line can come from fairly modest beginnings. I don't suppose that many people gave Royal Applause much chance as his sire Waajib did very little. Not only has RA prospered, but his son, Acclamation is doing even better. Tagula has sired 50 or more winners in GB on several occasions so hardly a failure.

Royal Applause was exeptionally popular with mare owners from the start and although his dam proved to be special, you couldn't really call the family exceptional. Springing to mind also, Polar Falcon useful sire though he was, couldn't really have been 'expected' to get a leading sire either. I think because of his good looks and physical compatibility with the plainer Danehill types I think C C is going to be very popular. There are plenty of Sadlers/Danzig cross mares floating about already so where else can they go that's hot and fresh? I can see his fee being nearer 20k than 10. |

Thing is mind sageform,is anyone on the 'payroll' from that outfit really honest in their appraisal of their horses? After-all they are about the best with their marketing!CC reminds me of Wollow who was a great miler of the mid 70's in the long term I'd say CC will be as successful as he was...........He was so good he ended up in Japan.

I was expressing a view of the sire not its owners. I could not care less who owns or stands them, I don't breed horse any longer. I enjoy pedigree analysis and have been a student for 50 years.

Tagula has a fair number of winners because he has largely been used for cheap speed. Canford Cliffs is by some way his best progeny. Royal Applause is from the Northern Dancer line as therefore is Acclamation. Tagula isn`t.
