Ironic really as I'd guess a lot of european Breeders would prefer the smaller, neater and more precocious Cape Blanco who will probably end up at Ashford. SYT's wind op and size mightn't count against him as much with the yanks, but surely SYT is guaranteed a full book for the first few years anyway.

Think SYT may surprise - any horse that can win the Cox Plate twice over Moonee Valley's tight little turning track is not a big lump of horse with no turn of foot. He is big but not a grinder - for a horse best over 10f to run a place in the Melbourne Cup is a good effort. I don't think O'Brien has found the key to this fellow - he has changed the routine and is not racing him or training him the same way as they did in Australia. I don't think this is O'Brien's finest hour with this horse.
I thought his run in the Arc was very good. I think they overhyped the horse and then all he could do was fall off the pedestal. Racing in the same year as a superstar like Frankel doesn't help either. |

SYT doesn't seem to have the same turn of speed since his arrival in Ireland. You would think it has to be a change in training methods. |

Should be retired now...i thought that was awful effort tbh. Didn't look like he put it all in. No speed which was even more worrying.

I bet all bar Cirrus wish their horses had run as awfully as So You Think!
Year in year out, Northern hemisphere horses are rated superior in general to the Southern Hemisphere ones, Sprinters excepted perhaps, is there any reason why So You Think should be different? Fine racehorse, but his form with Snow Fairy particularly seems consistent, so perhaps we just accept he is not a N.H. champion. OR, if he's not going through with his run, perhaps the old toobs need tinkering with again? The other N.H. now that's a possibility - but even Graham Wylie might balk at paying that much for him, now he can't have him de-nerved  |
