Evening all, as a Fraam mare owner always watching what nicks work etc. Probably passed all the big time breeders by but another winner today taking it his totals to 6 of 7 winners and 8 winners from 24 runners if RP stats correct. Any thoughts on this or freak of stats, as no notable winners to date.
yes, she was a decent AW horse won a class 2 over mile. She has a 2 year old colt by Tillerman who will need time, lost her second foal and missed last season and is scanned in foal to Firebreak now and will probably go to Newmarket sales

No fluke about it,i have always liked Fraam as a racehorse , stallion, and now as a dam sire,he had a knack of producing tough good looking stock from largely ordinary mares, why dont you hang on to your mare ?

Have a misu bond colt to run with Dandy Nicholls and have his full sister who will go to Doncaster. Sold a colt foal last year and have a full brother to him, was at Hedgeholme today and he's better foal than last years.

Littleun2. I too think that Fraam had a lot going for him, but sadly never quite lifted off. I used him many years ago but sadly had a late abortion which also sealed the fate of a borderline mare so not a good experience!
I'll probably follow you down the dispersal route soon enough but I've got another year dreaming of the 'big one' left in me I hope. In the meantime I hope that your 'long story' resolves itself and you can get back in on some level.

Experts? Are you thinking of another site[;)] I subscribe to the view that you can belittle a man's wife, child, mistress, mother, anytime you like before you criticise his horse! (Ditto a woman probably)
But there are nice things to say about your foal Littleun for sure even though it is at a slightly awkward stage or standing on a hill or probably both my guess?
Plenty of bone and the outline of something that won't take to long, it seems to have made a good start in life. Long may it continue!

its not the best picture, best foal mare had for a few years. shes 26 days old and much bigger than last few foals. I'm impressed with the upload photo option

Thanks Prima. Was just down the road from me so was nice to be there. Interesting to see where he will go next. Happy I still have his yearling full sister now!

Hi Koo, you going to stick to sellers and claimers or give him a bash at something better? I think he deserves chance after fast time in Scotland before easy Redcar win

considered the nursery at Chester over 6. But will also consider the claimer at Southwell as well, mainly as there's another claimer a month after, so if he handled it the first time well you have an excellent chance the 2nd. I dont mind spending money on entry fees and seeing what the race shapes look like.
Also 2 valuable sellers at Haydock and Newbury to consider.
Timeform gave him a faster speed figure for Redcar but i liked the fact pre redcar that they had done the 5f faster than Lost in Paris had. Would have bought the winner at Muss but didnt know anyone there. So when Pint Size won so easy it was an easy decision to buy him for 6k. Would have paid prob upto 12 for the Muss winner.

Just watched with interest, definately on the upgrade. I have a nice colt foal by Misu Bond at home now, his full brother was bought as a foal last year for a pin hook so interesting to see where he turns up.

Littleun2, Did you see the 'photo of my daughters Misu Bond yearling? If you did what do you think of it and how do you think it compares to stock by him?

I liked her, she looks very strong and racey.... She is very different to Pint Size's sister who I also have at home. He was more like your daughters filly not as impressive mind. My filly is atheletic, nice walker but needs to fill out her back end. She is the 13th foal I've bred and my favourite to date just something about her.
I like his stock alot used him 4 times and plan on using him next year with my fraam mare

In case anyones bothered and havent seen, Pint Size makes his debut for me tonight at Southwell in a claimer. Thought id stay in the bottom rung for now to basically see if he can handle the surface as claiming races are usually very weak here and if he can adapt to the surface then there might be a stack of races to be won without being too ambitious.

Well two of the progeny have on fibresand - and although Dam has too (Wolverhampton was fibresand in 94) that was a 4 runner race. Watch the low knee action lto - not ideal. Not saying he cant win just would rather be a layer than a player at the price....

I felt he should win but never considered a win so easy. Think the 2nd and 3rd favs havent run well. He ended up only beating a horse 7l who hed beat 13l the time before. So not sure how fast hes run until the speed gure's do the time.
Wish id pitched him in for more now obviously. But ive got close to 25's so if i can win claimers with a few and make a profit this way then thats not too bad.
Wonder if Gay plays the claimers route or tries her hand in something better, another reason i went claimer route is i felt the handicapper might have given him 75 so wouldnt look brilliantly handicapped. He might get 80 now after that so again he might be best in claimers.

You have more insight to me Koo having owned the horse for a little while. Watching the race again looks like the jockey had alot left under him. I think he deserves a chance at higher level, especially on firmer ground.

I need to get a picture of Pint Size's sister to get your opinion. I have a major soft spot for her, my favourite of the 13 horses we have bred so far.

That would be nice to see a photo of Pint Sizes sister, like you I too hope he goes on to better things.Hope you have a great result this year at the sales. The Misu Bond that belongs to my daughter and son-in-law is one of my favourite yearlings I've seen for a few years.

With all this rain not managed.... I'm on my own a lot and she's too interested in playing than standing and posing. Pint Size is doing me very proud for a small breeder fairly new to business its great. My Milk it Milk filly is looking like a little bullet too so far. Will be interesting come the sales now to see how much difference Pint Size is making to his sister

If the weather picks up and you get a chance I'd love to see the filly, the Milk it Mick too if you can.Where are you going with Pint sizes sibling Tatt's or Doncaster?

Doncaster 3 unfortunately as Pint Size success come to late and Floral Spark hadn't had any success since Thunder Bay. She has down well over summer and glad she failed to sell as foal now. I've got a trainer who's good with 2 year olds coming to see her later in year.

I too am on my own Littleun2 and trying to get a picture is a nightmare. I bought a phone with a decent camera on it so I was in some way equipped for the unexpected opportunity - but unfortunately I can't get it to download onto the computer. And then ofcourse you rope someone into give you a hand and unless you can get the wretched thing to stand like Tony Leonard or Joy Gilbert, you're not satisfied either!
Well done again with Pint Size. Those types that get the races and win more than their fair share are a delight aren't they. As a small breeder fairly new to the business you should really congratulate yourself as with selection and husbandry both so crucial there's a lot to go wrong for the experienced let alone the relative newcomer.
He's certainly not finished yet is he!
