i,d rather him to say norse dancer watdo u think, dont know the difference in stud fee?
Report Prima Donna October 31, 2010 1:09 PM GMT
I'd rate him just above Norse Dancer, saying that mind ND's owner will have a few to run for himself so he may be able to raise his profile a bit but really neither of them would ever be on our list.

Pimm, how can I put this gently. Phoenix Reach 2yo's 2010 - 45 runs 1 win, 5 4th places.

I think it could perhaps have gone a teeny bit better?
Report pimm October 31, 2010 1:17 PM GMT
pot,,i think they need time.much better as 3yrs olds, common sense tells you that.just telling u he had his first winner!
Report Prima Donna October 31, 2010 1:19 PM GMT
pimm, with just one winner can only imagine he will be full next year with 1 or 2 mares, prime candidate to be exported to some hot far off place!

Now standing as a duel purpose stallion...........says it all really!

PR was narowly beaten on debut by Norse Dancer despite coming back with a split pastern. I remember his first run as a 3yo as Andrew Balding had told me he was their best 2yo and had backed him heavily at 13/2 at Newbury for his 3yo maiden. He got into all sorts of trouble in running but just got up before wimnning a Group 3 at Goodwood next time at 12/1 despite again getting hampered in running. No reason why he will succeed as a sire though.

Stallions today need to hit the ground running with their first runners if like P'Reach they don't then they have almost now chance of succeeding in a very tough world,he might make a perfectly okay jump sire but if he is going to stand a chance in that field then imo he would be better off out of NMKT.

very true.
Report sageform February 22, 2011 11:58 AM GMT
Very hard for a staying sire to make any impact until May of the first 3yo season so plenty of time.
