RG in today's paper states that Dark Angel's "first crop of runners failed to make a huge impact on the racecourse this year".

Tut Tut.

LaughI can just imagine the conversation over Gay O'Callaghan's breakfast table this morning...... ...........planning to advertise Dark Angel in the Post no doubt!!!

To be fair to them it may just be a slip-up on behalf of the sub-editor rather than the writer... But, even so: does anyone else feel that they have to buy the Post not for enlightenment but just in case they miss something, and usually end up thinking "that was a bit of a waste of £1.70" (or however much it costs these days!). I think it's becoming quite hard to find good (= useful) bloodstock coverage in print these days - or am I just turning into a grumpy old man? (Not half as grumpy as whichever sub-editor has already been shouted at by the Post's bloodstock team this morning, mind you!)

Of course the real shame about this is that Tony Morris, the best writer they have, is reduced these days to churning out what's going on in Newmarket High Street or Lord Derby's plans for Hatchfield.

yeah Tony Morris is the best there is in pedigrees. Not just UK, but in the world. Can't believe he no longer writes bloodstock in RP.

There's a Deep Impact filly running at Lingfield today. It's Andrew Black's. Can't wait to see how the Deep Impacts do. If they can have this turn of foot, what a sight!

The RP seem to have replaced journalism with a fixation on 'live blogs' at the sales. I've never quite understood the point of this when interested parties are either at the sales anyway or watching live on the Tattersalls/Keeneland website. Can the Bloodstock editor please write some articles about Bloodstock !
