PD you know were i'm coming from. Not all his horses are bred to be two year olds and if they are no good at two he disposes of them this is what i dont like about his training. i admire the man and he is an unreal trainer but i think i have a point

He'll say himself  that so many of of his early season 2yo old winners never win another race

Rip Van,More than likely his owners send him sorts who they feel are 2y'olds,they want a win to improve the chance of a sale at HIT as you know there is a big market for that sort, also owners may want him to give their mare the best chance of early black type increasing the mares value.
If the runners show no real promise then like a lot of trainers he will move them on,always remember its a business to a large extent,a well know friend of ours sends some of her 2y'olds to give her mares the best chance of precocious black type, who better to achieve success at that stage?

I know he is a great trainer of two year olds and that sending a horse to him is giving your mare a good chance. But you see yourself he has backward looking two year olds who wont be given the chance

Well Rip Van you may have a point but always remember having a horse in training is not cheap, if you do go down that route and your horse is backward and not looking like running would you go on or would you take your trainers advice and move on?People send him horses for one reason that's to run and hopefully win at the desired age,I doubt many owners send Micheal Stoute precocious 2y'old types.

He'll be having 1st time out 2yo winners from March to November and the odd few that he keeps until the next year too.
If he is purely Mr Precocious ru(i)n them early, then presumably he'd have them all out by June? (ok, ok facetious, moi?). I just think he is too good a trainer for that, it's just about him training largely the type that suit an early modus operandi.
Is this years phenomenal run due to the fact that the limited budget is buying him a nicer horse in these tough times?

I may sound that i'm against him but i'm not, it's just he had one that we bred tried it at 2 very hard, moved to a different trainer at 3 and was a very good horse(we bred the horse sold him as a foal)

Must have been a tough horse Rip Van, to take it before he was ready and still come out next year.
Well done, keep breeding them like that!

It was a fairly tough horse alright its still on the go in a riding school i believe.

I wish my jeep was as tough was ment to be going to Naas but it broke down this morning

The point PM made about the limited budget buying him a nicer horse at the minute strikes me as explaining alot, there must be alot of value out there. Great for them especially hughsie who took alot of flack after losing the KA job. King Torus looks like the pick of them for me and a really good one for next year
