Derbyshire Racing currently have 3 horses in training with the shrewd John Mackie based in South Derbyshire and should anyone on Betfair have an interest in taking a small share in one of our horses the details are below.

We have had a good following on Betfair since I set the syndicate up in 2005 with our first horse Choristar and we currenly have some shares still available in our latest aquisition the 3 year old filly Aegean Destiny.

She is a very well bred former Richard Hannon trained filly that has won 1 race to date at Leicester over 7f and been placed 4 times, including a sht hd 2nd at Ffos Las over 1m last September. As she is bred to be a middle distance plus filly we consider that whatever she did last season as a two year old she will improve considerably as a 3 year old+ as she matures and races over longer trips.

She is by the Group 1 winning sire Beat Hollow (by Sadlers Wells out of a mare by Dancing Brave) and is out of an unraced dam from the excellent Eva Luna and Media Luna family, which were top notch middle distance fillies. The family have produced the likes of Brian Boru and 2000 Guineas and Derby fancy Workforce. The grandam Petralona has produced the listed flat and jumps winner Big Moment and classy but ill fated Pressgang, 2nd in the Cheltenham Champion Bumper.

We think she will develop into a usefull middle distance filly on the flat in 2010 and possibly make a juvenile hurdler if she takes to jumping.

We have shares of 2.5% upwards available priced at £175 per 2.5% upfront and £40 per month to cover all training and racing expenses. Shares of 5% and 10% are also available with discounts on the momnthy fee for shares of 10%+.

If you may be interested in getting involved in our small friendly syndicate please take a look at our website

Best Regards

Less than 25% remaining in this Aegean Destiny now - if anyone else on the forum may be interested in getting involved just get in touch via the website. I have had a good response from fellow Betfair forumites this week and we are looking forward to a good season with her. John Mackie's horses are in good form and he is very pleased with all three of our horses, all of which have had breaks ready for the Spring/Summer.

If you are interested in finding out more or visiting the yard just get in touch.

We have pencilled a debut run in at Wolves for Aegean Destiny, a handicap on the 20th April over 1m2f. I saw her on the gallops this morning, she is working well, a good mover with a good attitude in her work. Once the ground is right she will then be switched to the turf.

We expect the syndicate to be complete by the time she runs so if you would like to get involved in her get in touch

Aegean Destiny now pencilled in to make her debut for Derbyshire Racing at Nottingham on 27th April in a 1m2f 3 year old handicap.

We still have 10% available if any other forum members would like to get involved - see the thread above for details.

Our other 2 horses in training, Arizona John and Sphere, are also set to run in the next few weeks and our broodmare Impeccable Guest should be foaling next week (in foal to Lucky Story) so an exciting Spring and Summer awaits.

PS Her 2 year old half brother by Cacique went under the hammer at the Doncaster Breeze Ups today and fetched £20,000, having been pin hooked by Willie Browne of Mocklershill in Ireland at the Tatts Sales in October for 9k gns. Gone to the Chezch Republic by the looks.

nice start for your filly today

Cheers, pleased with that for a debut run, much better on turf than AW as expected, nice little fun filly that should improve through the Summer

Our mare Impeccable Guest had her foal last night at 1am, a filly by Lucky Story, so all in all a good 24 hours for us!

We have our filly Aegean Destiny running in the fillies handicap at Nottingham today - a hot but trappy little race. Lots with AW form that may not translate across. Wulfrida looks a class filly but 9st7lb to carry - form of her run at Yarmouth last year looks very good now. We have only 8st1lb to carry with the claim and are hopeful of a good run but it will be a tough ask. Looking forward to it though - a nice race to be involved in.

Back to this thread Devil had a few quid onto day and the step up in trip really suited him.

Yes AJ really saw the 1m2f out well on a stiff track, should get further opening up plenty of options.

Our mare Sphere runs in the 2m1f handicap hurdle at Market Rasen tomorrow so a double could on the cards this week!

How comes you can spam on here and you have for YEARS yet others like the much better koos-racing-club.com get deleted.

I dont understand it. Koos racing club have loads of winners and runners.

Why are some allowed to spam on here with massive adverts and mentions of far better syndicates get deleted?

£190 a month training fees for 10%??

What makes them "much better" - would be interested to know
Report bgr blooma June 26, 2010 9:42 AM BST
congrats on that winner the other day , it would have been so easy to go down the seller/claiming route with that horse , bagged a few wins and then gloated about all the "winners" you have,  looks like you got yourself a nice improving handicapper there Happy
Report Derbyshire Racing June 26, 2010 11:21 AM BST
thanks bgr blooma, we were thrilled with Arizona John last Sunday and yes, he does look an improving handicapper now over 1m2f+, he should be out again soon whilst the ground is spot on for him
Report ben10 June 26, 2010 11:26 AM BST
It was mentioned on here that AJ was a good purchase at the time, good to see continued success Dave.
Thoughts on Sphere yesterday, RUK were a bit mean regarding her I thought, implying she wasn't put in the race? I'm not sure the handicapper has given her a chance myself and could she have a breathing problem, seemed to pick up a little when the jockey had let her be?
Report Derbyshire Racing June 26, 2010 6:25 PM BST
she was a disappointing yesterday, we had hoped she was up to placing but maybe she needs 2m4f on quick ground and a bit more use made of her. Yes RUK focused on her a bit unfairly, she was beaten after jumping 3 out though. She can be a bit of a madam, a bit like many Daylami's, and swished her tail once or twice. She has ability though and should win races for us - jumped very well yesterday and settled much better.
Report Derbyshire Racing June 26, 2010 6:29 PM BST
Agree re handicap - a bit high and she was up near the top of the weights off 97 in this 0-100 rated race - may be better in a 0-110 receiving a bit of weight as she isnt the biggest or even better a mares only handicap
