When BB discovered that Keeley's injury was worse than first thought they decided to cancel Friday's eviction. Fair enough. You can't evict someone who is still in hospital. Then we are promised a special live extended Wednesday night show featuring an interview with Caoimhe the laoimhe.
Then we learn that Davina can't make it over the channel from her French idyll because of an air traffic control strike.
So, no Wednesday night live show, no Friday eviction. And will Keeley ever return? I wouldn't bet my or even the Big Brother House on it.
Rachel and Corin were understandably pretty chuffed when they were told they'd been given a reprieve. According to the rules, housemates automatically get eliminated from the show if they leave the house for over 24 hours, but BB can change the rules at any time, and if they'd stuck with the letter of the law on this one and kicked her out they could well have ended up with a mighty lawsuit on their hands.
Keeley should never have been put in this position in the first place. She wouldn't even have had to try in the Save and Replace task had it not been for a punishment for a rule break that was clearly imposed to get a result for the convenience of the show, rather than out of any sense of justice.
In the second place, it looked to me like a dangerous, and quite possibly impossible, task. I assume if Steve had been nominated they'd have had a slightly different, less physically challenging one. So what kind of a chance did a 4'11" lady like Keeley have of ever succeeding in it, let alone winning? As she fell to the ground and as Rachel went to her aid, Corin comically carried on, but noticeably failed and gave up.
Somebody at BB Towers really did not have his thinking cap on these past couple of weeks. This one would have tested the Superstars.
Then, to cap it all, JJ goes to the diary room asking to leave.
He's still there, alas.
So where are we now? Every moment Keeley's in hospital diminishes the likelihood of her returning. She's had to have an operation on her broken ankle, so will be in no fit state to take part in any of the physical tasks. She's the rank outsider to win. I suppose she could come back for the final week and, in a wave of sympathy, stride, or at least stumble, to victory as we all fall in love with her resilience and the incredible journey she's been on.
But it isn't going to happen, is it? Davina won't be making that special flight from France for a special live interview with Keeley, will she?
At least, with the cancelled eviction, that makes it less likely that Keeva will require a replacement. This year's intruders have been perhaps the least significant ever. Last year was just as chaotic, but we did at least have a little bit of drama with the constant walk outs, as Isaac, Tom, and Kenneth fly the coup, all of them realising that a date with Davina wasn't worth the ticket. This year, they've blended into the background. Keeley tried to get in with the Baron, Rachel tried to get in with Ben, but both basically failed. Andrew is just the nice puppy they all like to mollycoddle.
Another newbie won't make any headway here. They're all too gloomy. Indeed, this is probably the gloomiest house since BB8.
Still, chin up. On tonight's highlights JJ and Josie make up. Bet you can't wait.

He's another one who can't read things properly (like 99% of DS). Rules state "MAY not be able to return" not "WILL not be able to return", hence they can do what they please.
None of these people have ever had to do a verbal reasoning exam have they?
