Too much of a perv, I'm afraid. Will end up blowing himself in absence of gay activity.

I actually like the guy and was an early backer, but he's a 100 shot for me. He does come across as somewhat seedy and predatory
He has very kind moments, but not enough

Roddy was everything that he is not, and managed a miserable 5th

Yes I think Mario could very well win this. After a shaky start he comes across as a happy and decent sort, and with a good sense of humour (even if it is mostly of the perv variety).

Report GeorgeBrush July 13, 2010 12:46 AM BST
He does a lot of perving about 19 year old virgins ;-)
Report shrewdbury July 13, 2010 10:37 AM BST
His relationship with Andrew is definitely a positive for him - he can show compassion and understanding, something he does a lot anyway. He showed it yesterday with the JJ scenes too as he was first to look out for him.

Aside from a small glitch when he b1tched with Ben, he hasn't done anything wrong yet - but he's twice the price of AO Andrew.

I actually think Mario trys to come across a bit like Graham Norton, but where GN is very funny with his sex remarks and innuendo's...Mario sounds more like a sex starved slime monster.
my mrs thought he was a freak when he was trying it on with Ben all the time, now its JJ and Andy's turn simultaneously.
I think most of the public already think he's a weirdo tbh, i remember BBBM show about Mario after the 1st two weeks a lot thought he was a freak then.
Report armagnac July 15, 2010 11:06 AM BST
I think if BB had put in a genuine bender from the start and him and Mario got on well we would not have seen this sex pest side of mario and he would of had a great shout of winning.

No, I can't see him giving up making seedy comments but people will become used to them. I now find them amusing in their naffness. At least he's got a sense of humour.
Report StadiumStatus July 19, 2010 11:21 PM BST
so to sum up; he's caring, he's not an a$$hole, and he has a sense of humour.
this seems the shrewd horse to back atm

Back away son.
Report StadiumStatus July 19, 2010 11:29 PM BST
if you remove the 'gay' bit, you could be describing steve there. remove the 'sexual predator', and you could be describing 95% of the housemates
Report GeorgeBrush July 19, 2010 11:33 PM BST
?

None of the above matters for me, it's the lack of coverage. If he got and astounding final week I suppose it could happen. 8s is about right, he'll likely be overshadowed in the final week
Report GeorgeBrush July 19, 2010 11:33 PM BST
an astounding*
Report SelkirkAgain July 19, 2010 11:34 PM BST
Yes Rapey Steve gives me the creeps, every time I see that glass eye roll around his head with pure rapey lust.

Boring and needy pale into insignificance when faced by aMichael Barrymore fan touching your willy every time you go for a glass of water.

Report shrewdbury July 21, 2010 11:29 AM BST

Report Henry VIII July 21, 2010 11:36 AM BST
George is spot on earlier - I'm a mario backer

No. The last two winners were also overshadowed in their last week.

What matters is that Mario is a fundamentally decent sort. Bit of a bad loser, bit crude, but was cheered by the crowd. Very likely winner.
Report GeorgeBrush July 21, 2010 11:43 AM BST
I ceased to be a Mario backer some time ago. Sitting on the fence at the moment. Not as painful as sitting on Mario
Report shrewdbury July 21, 2010 11:59 AM BST
I'll still keep him as one of my better results, but I think the likelihood of him winning is potentially reducing at the moment. The little coverage they are choosing for him is becoming telling for me.
Report GeorgeBrush July 21, 2010 12:04 PM BST
He'll become more prominent in the final week or two, but I think it'll be too late for him by then

This year's Rodrigo, with a disappointing 10% or so
Report shrewdbury July 21, 2010 12:17 PM BST
Rodrigo could be a good comparison sadly.

I'd say nearer 5% atm.
Report GeorgeBrush July 21, 2010 1:29 PM BST

Not quite sure why his price is steadily dropping today...Confused
Report shrewdbury July 21, 2010 6:47 PM BST

I refer the right honourable gentleman to my earlier posts of

and suggests he reads Hansard, and there would be no need for his surprise.
Report shrewdbury July 21, 2010 7:08 PM BST
Henry - that doesn't answer my question of why is his price dropping today.
Report Henry VIII July 21, 2010 7:09 PM BST
Fair enough. Maybe it's anticipation of Whale's drift (or maybe not as it seems me, and probably Kitten, are the only ones so anticipating).
Report shrewdbury July 21, 2010 7:11 PM BST
I don't mind, I used the price dip to grab a bit of stake back on him.

Nice trade from 17.0 to be fair.
Report Henry VIII July 23, 2010 12:53 PM BST
He's not a Rodrigo, he's got much more of an edge to him, and his negatives - moody loser - are more acceptable than Rodrigo's hissy fits.

Usually smiling, enjoying and enthusiastic about the experience, he wins.
Report shrewdbury July 23, 2010 1:06 PM BST
Still not sure he's being given enough from the editors to win Henry - he's still a possible for sure, but a less likely one. They need to get something from him I think in the HLs shows, as this is why he is still way behind on all the polls for favourite.
Report shrewdbury July 23, 2010 1:06 PM BST
and he is only enthusiastic when it all goes his way - less so when he's losing, getting nommed etc...
Report Henry VIII July 23, 2010 1:14 PM BST
I think he's much more fun and interesting than the last two winners. Let's see if he has a steady but slow poll improvement like Sophie had.
Report five leaves left July 23, 2010 1:19 PM BST
I don't see how he's ever going to be thought of as a deserving winner.
He simply doesn't contribute enough.
Report Henry VIII July 23, 2010 1:21 PM BST
He tries as hard or harder than anyone in tasks, always cracking jokes, who contribute's more except for the negative contributions from Ben and JJJ?
Report Henry VIII July 23, 2010 1:23 PM BST
A couple of the big but largely flawed characters will be there on finals day, and will lose out to someone nicer and more positive.
Report shrewdbury July 23, 2010 1:23 PM BST
To be fair, he contributes as much (or more) as Sophie did in the house.
Report five leaves left July 23, 2010 1:24 PM BST
Corin.

For me he's just too dull and colourless a character and rather sleazy and a whingebag.

Not a winning combination for me.

I must have missed his cracking jokes too.

Mario is just dreary.
Report five leaves left July 23, 2010 1:33 PM BST
tbf he's not completely without a chance.
As others have said, the default winner if the bigger characters all ruin their chances.
I'd want more than 8.4 on that happening though.
Report shrewdbury July 23, 2010 1:35 PM BST
Damn, Mario is the one selection this year that confuses more than the others.

keep backing him then laying, then backing, then laying....haven't always got it the right way round either.

Mario's chance of winning is about the same as the chance of Andrew waking up and discovering his a*se is like the Japan flag after Mario has had his way with him in the night - ie, I think Mario should be a double figure price.
