The news today is that Chelsea are lining up a bid of £27 million plus Daniel Sturridge to lure Luka Modric away from White Hart Lane. The Betfair market is undecided whether he will still be a Spurs player when the transfer window closes; it's pretty much evens the pair. Tottenham's deflating end to the season continued on Saturday evening when the Lilywhites were unable to overcome Blackpool at White Hart Lane. The draw all but denies Spurs the chance of finishing fourth with Manchester City holding a six point lead, despite losing at Everton on Saturday afternoon. This should have been a Champions League qualification shootout but it will simply boil down to pride.
