As if being deducted ten points and thereby surrendering their SPL crown weren't punishment enough, debt-ridden Rangers now have a 12-month transfer ban to contend with. The SFA have also hit the club with a £160,000 fine for good measure. Ally McCoist insists the transfer embargo could kill the club and Rangers are already planning to appeal the decision. But that won't aid their immediate plight, namely a trip to Celtic Park. If ever an Old Firm derby were incidental, this is surely it. Celtic wrapped up the title a fortnight ago, while Rangers are 11 points clear of Motherwell in third. The fans, however, will ensure this is as fiercely contested as any that has gone before it.
