Blackpool v Ipswich

A year ago Blackpool were confounding the doubters in the Premier League. Of course, it didn't last and down they came, but Ian Holloway's side have made a decent start to life back in The Championship and they should be able to account for an Ipswich outfit which has been woeful defensively so far.

The Seasiders are the only team to have taken a point off leaders Brighton so far, and they followed that with a hard-earned point at Crystal Palace. After two tough away trips they will be glad to be home and hosting opponents who have been shipping goals for fun. Ipswich have not kept a clean sheet since the opening day and conceded 12 in two games against Southampton and Peterborough. A win over Leeds before the international break will have helped but they still look vulnerable.

Barnsley v Leicester

If someone had this sort of price for a Leicester win at Barnsley before the season had started, most people would have snapped it up. Don't let the fact that the Foxes haven't flown out of the traps make you think they are not one of the very best teams in this division. Sven-Goran Eriksson has spent massively and, generally, wisely - there aren't many Championship clubs capable of splashing out £3m on a striker like Jermaine Beckford on deadline day.

Okay, so they have only won two of their first five games - with such a turnover of players it is bound to take time for Leicester's quality to tell. They beat in-form Southampton last time out though and hosts Barnsley are hardly brimming with good form themselves. The Tykes have lost both their home games so far and have only scored three goals in five league fixtures.

West Ham v Portsmouth & Cardiff v Doncaster

You have to win your home games to have any chance of going up, so the fact West Ham have failed in two attempts so far has led to some furrowed Cockney brows. However, they have a great chance to break their Upton Park duck for the season with the visit of Portsmouth, who are on a run of one win in 13 games when you add the start of this season to the end of the last one.

I suggest putting the Hammers in a home double with Cardiff, who have also made a stuttering start in front of their own fans. However, the Welsh outfit will not get a better chance of three points than against basement boys Doncaster, who are currently on a run of 17 league games without a win stretching back to March 1.
