So here we are then. A series that began with Kerry Katona standing all alone in the shiny, new Big Brother house, will quite possibly end that way tomorrow night. KK is second favourite to win the show at 3.9, and it seems only that appalling Jedward thing can stop her.

True to BB self-misogynistic form, it has been a dreadful series for the womenfolk, with all three evictions so far finding a female on the receiving end of some seriously penetrative live journalism from Brian 'Paxman' Dowling. This doesn't bode particularly well for Kerry, which may explain Jedward's slight favouritism on the markets.

Katona's only hope is to play the 'journey' card, and whilst she has by no means been transformed into a leading public intellectual, the mere fact that she can now stand up and speak without resembling a melting snowman, will go down well with the BB masses. Either way, it has been a good few weeks for the Katona brand - like Roy Keane, she is back in contention for the Iceland job.

The outside bet is gypsy slugger Paddy Doherty. He is available at 8.4 and is the only real contender to break up the big two.

As for the also-rans, Bobby and Darryn have received the most nominations in the house, and their lack of popularity on the inside will be reflected in the real world. The odds suggest that Bobby will go first, and being a 'vote to win' that's probably about right. He has done little to suggest that models should ever be allowed to do anything but just stand there looking pretty.

In recent days, Lucien and Amy appear to have been desperately attempting to cobble together a will they/won't they love story, which has been about as convincing as the House of Commons speaker's wife in a bed sheet pretending to be a ghost. With a big press following on her way into the house, Childs has blown this one - it was very much hers for the taking. At best, she could be an outsider to snare Top Female (priced at 5.6). At a push, Lucien could even steal fourth from her.
