Up first, at ten past one, are Andy Hamilton and Simon Whitlock. While The Hammer's performance against Anderson was straight out of the top drawer, his win over Henderson was more like a scrabble around the tool box. He's peaked too early and The Wizard will beat him with several legs, a magic wand and a beard to spare. The hirsute Australian is a true title contender.

The second game sees current World Champion Adrian Lewis face a resurgent Mark Webster and the quick right-hander versus the slightly more considered lefty will produce plenty of maximums between them. A small lay of Lewis is the recommendation here with a view to a trade, however, purely because I believe the afternoon start will suit his opponent more.

The third of today's four matches pits James Wade against Raymond Van Barneveld. Both contestants will bring their 'AA' (for 'Amazing Arrows') game in a bid to become the first player to qualify for tomorrow's semis. If I'd been tipping this one a couple of months ago I'd have taken Wade to win, but Barney has looked solid since the start of the tournament, his finishing has been immense and he's the best value outsider of the round. Have a dabble on +27.5 legs as this could go past the scheduled 31 legs. The winner has to win by two clear legs and the pair, like Chang and Eng, look inseparable.

Finally, Phil Taylor faces Wes Newton. Despite Taylor reaching the quarters without too much trouble, his finishing percentage hasn't been too impressive and it is precisely this chink in his armour that Newton will look to exploit. Wes should be good enough, at worst, to get into double figures in legs.
