With an exciting weekend already behind us, featuring a nine-darter from John Part and a marathon 14-12 between Painter and Lewis, tonight's World Matchplay Darts contests will bring us all back down to Earth with a bump. While the standard of arrows should still be exceptionally high, I can't see beyond the four favourites winning all their respective fixtures.

With a Jones/King/Newton/Taylor fourfold the obvious choice, there are some other decent opportunities to boost your betting bank in the correct score betting and 180s markets.

Newton and Taylor should win both their games without breaking sweat, which is quite an achievement in the flaming hot atmosphere of the Empress Ballroom. The Jones/Rand and King/Pipe matches, however, should be slightly closer affairs. In both of these match-ups, try Dutching 10-5, 10-6 and 10-7 to the favourites Wayne Jones and Mervyn King.

King can score 180s for fun when he's in the groove and, with those familiar ear plugs in place, he'll be nailing the maximums as if he was in a the solitude of a relaxation chamber. To this end, consider getting involved in the +6.5 180s market if the odds suit as Pipe's bound to contribute at least a couple. King will definitely outscore Pipe in maximums, but the parsimonious price of around 1.25 will reflect this.

While Taylor has looked a shadow of his former self in recent tournaments, he'll coast past Mark Hylton, so take a serious look at Dutching 10-1, 10-2 and 10-3 to 'The Power'. As with all selections, wait until there's sufficient liquidity in the markets before piling in.

Recommended Bets
Dutch 10-5, 10-6 & 10-7 to Jones and King
Back +6.5 180s in the King/Pipe match @ 1.5 or better
Dutch 10-1, 10-2 and 10-3 to Taylor
