Razldazl Jayfkay faces by far his stiffest test in the Greyhound Derby so far in the toughest of tonight's quarter-finals - live on Sky Sports - but he is not for opposing says Darrell Williams, who fancies it might be a good night for favourite backers and saves his best bet for the supporting card.

If, or perhaps when, Dolores Ruth wins the Greyhound Derby a week on Saturday, it will have come via the most meticulous of planning, having set her stall out almost a year in advance with ante-post favourite Razldazl Jayfkay, who together with kennelmate and litter-brother Razldazl George have reached this stage unbeaten.

After equalling the track-record - set just 24 hours earlier - on Saturday, 'JFK', who has won his three races in the competition so far by an aggregate of over 18 lengths, is denied the trap six jacket for the first time in undoubtedly the most competitive quarter-final (20:50), where he faces similarly unbeaten Nambisco and rapidly improving Boher Legend, now the leading hope of Charlie Lister.

Veteran Nambisco has been running like a greyhound half his age and while neighbour Taylors Sky could hold him up, he could hardly be in better form. Boher Legend also appears to be reaching his peak after readily seeing off Blue Artisian the other night. However, in his current form Dolores Ruth's runner simply cannot be opposed - indeed his odds of around 1.85 could look a steal come the end of the night - and he must form the basis of all your investments. And while you're at it, be sure to snap up the remaining 3.6 about JFK's outright Derby odds.

Barefoot Bullet came into the Derby a fresh dog having not run since finishing fifth in last year's Irish equivalent, and those tactics look to be paying off for Paul Hennessy, whose charge again showed plenty of improvement when overturning Taylors Sky on Saturday. Drawn in what appears the easiest heat (21:10), he can account for Pennys Viking, who offers a worthy alternative for value seekers.

Razldazl George may have been put somewhat in the shade by the efforts of illustrious brother, but he too has reached this stage unbeaten and is likely to be the shortest price of the night again (21:25). While some may have suggested his latest win was somewhat workmanlike the clock suggests a different story, and with Cloheena Cash, who chased him home admirably the other night, likely to hold up Fifis Rocket, don't expect any surprises.

For those not comfortable with backing at odds-on, Blue Artisan offers the best bet in the four Derby heats (20:35). Harry Williams' charge has enjoyed little luck in the competition so far, but back in his Juvenile winning trap one box, where he is five from five, he can return to winning ways, especially with the presence of slow-starting Buzz Doc on his immediate outside. Early-paced Bright Redcliffe should stay straight on the run up from trap three, while I expect Destroy The Camp to take care of Melodys Royal out wide.

On the support card, Fayboyz Slim rates the nap (20:15). Formerly known as Seven Hills Lady, Chris Allsopp's runner has taken a while to find his feet since moving across from Ireland, but a series of progressive performances at Nottingham in recent weeks suggest he's on his way back and he may have been let in lightly in the second division of the Stayers where Pachacuti can help to make the market.

I would have preferred it if Ballymac Denis had been given a trial ahead of the sprint (20:00) but having beaten Rotar Wing last week to make it from three from three over two bends, he's one to stay in the hope he can avoid Sleeping Urban on the run up. Well drawn Gneeves Billy is an interesting alternative on his Henlow form, but he too has not been round here before.

It's a toss up between Romeo's Reason and Spartan in the opener (19:40), with marginal preference just for Lister's Romeo Spartan, who I had fancied to go a long way in the Derby.

Blonde Fletch should win the 21:45, but he offers little in terms of price, especially given a defeat at Sheffield last week and value seekers might prefer well-drawn Centurion Enry, who finished just in front of him on Trainers Championship night.
