The North London derby isn't a fixture that really needs the ante upped, but with Tottenham needing a win to draw level on points with fourth placed Manchester City and Arsenal after an away victory to keep in touch with Manchester United at the top of the league, this encounter is likely to be even more keenly fought than normal.
Harry Redknapp is without the injured Alan Hutton, Ledley King, Wilson Palacios and Jonathan Woodgate, but Steven Pienaar could return after a period out with a groin strain. Peter Crouch is also available again having been suspended for the Champions League game against Real Madrid.
Arsenal are likely to have Manuel Almunia, Denilson, Bacary Sagna and Thomas Vermaelen missing with injury, but Alex Song should start after featuring as a substitute against Liverpool.
Match Odds: Tottenham 2.94, the draw 3.55, Arsenal 2.62
Neither team comes into this game in good form. Spurs have only won one of their last five league games, despite the fact that the sides they faced are all in the bottom half of the table. Arsenal are having a similar run, having only won once in the Premier League since losing in the Carling Cup final.
Tottenham have won the last two league games between the sides and their fans will remember that it was a home victory over Arsenal last season, that kick-started their journey to fourth place. Will history repeat itself?
It was a switch in formation from 4-5-1 to 4-4-2 that saw Spurs beat Arsenal 3-2 earlier this season and if they are to have any chance of winning this game they must surely employ two strikers - which means that Harry Redknapp will have a hard call as how to accommodate his talented midfielders into a 4-4-2.
Although I fancy a home win more likely than an away victory, the draw seems the most probable result. The odds of 3.55 should give you the opportunity to trade at the very least, but overall I'd probably stay away from this market.
Over/Under 2.5 Goals: Over 2.5 goals 1.83, Under 2.5 goals 2.18
Nine of the last ten league meetings between Spurs and Arsenal have broken the 2.5 goals barrier. Throw in the fact that Arsenal have scored more away goals than any other team and backing overs might seem like a no-brainer.
However, Spurs keep things very tight at White Hart Lane. Only three teams have conceded less home goals, while only four teams have scored less at home. Arsenal haven't been firing on all cylinders lately and didn't look particularly potent against Liverpool.
Therefore, I'd say that under 2.5 goals is marginally better value, in what I expect to be a close game.
Corners Match Bet
When this market gains more liquidity on Betfair closer to kick off, you can expect Spurs to be priced at around 1.8, with the draw at 8.0 and Arsenal at 2.5.
It does look like Tottenham are worthy favourites in this market. The likes of Gareth Bale and Aaron Lennon are always likely to cause full backs problems and the statistics back this up, with Spurs averaging 8.2 corners at home and Arsenal averaging 6 on their travels.
Tottenham win from behind
Spurs came back from 2-0 down to beat Arsenal 3-2 at the Emirates earlier this season and in total have won six league games having conceded first. This makes the likely odds of around 15.0 for Tottenham to beat Arsenal from behind a very attractive prospect for a small stakes bet.
Bet Bet: Back Spurs to win the corners match bet @ 1.8
Recommended Bets: Back under 2.5 goals @ 2.18, back Spurs to win from behind @ 15.0
