I've been using it for the past 2 weeks and it's almost the perfect Betfair app.

There are still some missing features but the team are keen to improve it and I'm trying to assist them with the development and testing.

In a matter of time, it will be unbeatable and totally different class to any other Betfair betting app, incl the official Android one & the old Java one. [;)]

Thanks for the reply Hove.  Did you have to do anything special to be able to login ?

Excellent support from the guys at Zoombet.  It appears the app wasn't able to turn off the predictive text so wasn't sending the correct password.

Would be interested to know, how or where I can contact the guys at Zoombet, because it keeps telling me I have entered "incorrect username or password"

There's a "Send Feedback" option available in the application you can use to kick off an e-mail with any comments or concerns you may have. As for the particular issue, we are aware that some phones, if predictive text input is turned on, may actually modify the password you have entered (and cannot see) to something else - please try turning auto-complete on and let us know if this fails to resolve the issue.

Amazing APP and for me the best on the market at the moment especially with the speed and market depth showing.

I think the app is great also. But how do you get market depth to show?

Market depth is not available in ZoomBet at the current time as we want to keep the interface as clean and simple as possible. Are there any particular cases why you feel market depth would be neccessary?

It would be handy to use where the liquidity is low.Market depth would give a better indication of  the market. Betacular has market depth as an option

I use Betacular over Zoombet everytime because of market depth, as close to the computer site as you can get so why would you only want one back and lay column?

racers - how do you get market depth in betacular please?

In fact I don't seem to have any acces to 'Settings' - no market depth,no standard stake etc.

Am I missing something obvious?

I have a motorola defy. When betacular is operating I press on the menu symbol on bottom left hand corner and options for betascular appear including settngs.

BUT BUT BUT

Market depth is a absolute must (shud display this if you go to landscape view)

and book % should be shown too.


These two improvements would make it the best - I find I can't operate without the depth.

It doesn't display non runners and their reduction factor - again absolutely essential

Turn phone on its side Ekbalco and will get depth with Betacular, Zoombet left behind in that respect!

Seems like the Zoombet team have all gone AWOL.

I've not heard anything or had any updates to play with for several months now, despite assurances that something will happen "soon" [:(]

At least the app still works properly in its current form, despite needing some TLC and some bugs fixed.

i was at ayr  racing yesterday and it is dead sloy to load a market

I was prompted to download an update today when I started Zoombet, which I did, but while using this "new" version, I cannot find anything different from the version released last week?

Am I missing something?

The last version has some subtle adjustements under the hood that will enable us to deliver new functionality easier in the future and also improved quick search - this now also displays event path to simplify finding that second league market.

Hopefully releasing new versions more often, but with smaller changes, will ensure that we can chase up with the requests users have provided via feedback faster! :)

Very good app, best android one available. I don't have any problems on HTC Desire, downloaded from the ANdroid market on the phone itself.

Interesting...

I just hope that it's not going to become the "official" Betfair Android app, as the last time that happened, Mobet (as it was called at that time, before it changed it's name to Betfair Mobile) stopped improving as it had been doing consistantly, and started to go backwards as all the technical "grunt" went abroad and away from the original developers, who had a vision.

Apart from that, I can also only hope that you're not going "Apple" in any way, shape or form, as I'd like to see you concentrate 100% on the current fantastic android app.

No reply in 5 days makes me concerned that one of my speculations may be correct.

Can you at least confirm if I'm wrong?

Between Betacular and Zoombet totally sad that there is no updates.. If the put time into the apps people would pay for them, but its seems they dont care less.

Another 3 weeks on from my last "2 weeks on..." without any reply or update on the "news" or any other updates...

Now it's been 3 months since the last "no news yet"

I sincerely hope the project has not been suspended as it had so much promise.

Love this app but Market depth one-click betting and a default stake option and it would be AWESOME!!

Finding it hard to get on with the app. I appreciate that it's free but I'd rather pay for it, if it does what I need. How come it is free anyway?

A few questions/suggestions:
Is it possible to see the most recent matched bet first (would seem logical) or to seperate unmatched and matched?
Can I see profit and loss by market.  A long list of results is not very helpful when I might have up to 50 bets on a single event.
The landscape option for market depth is essential.
Any chance of a double tap on a selection bringing up a history graph, like it does on iBetmate for iPhone?
Up-down arrows for bet editing would be very useful, when you just want to ammend a bet by a couple of ticks.
Can someone tell me why, on a market page, one price is in green and the rest are in white?

Also, as of today, I can't even find the app in the store.  I'd like to update my comments.

Just realised that you can't even edit an unmatched bet.  You have to cancel it and submit a new one.

Just noticed there's a service notice at the top of the menu option that says "this service will be closed from the 10th June 2012"?  Does this mean it won't work from then on? Confused....

Also gutted at losing zoombet. Always found it the fastest and most reliable program for Betfair.

I've sent an email to the Zoombet guys... If it's server costs I've put it to them that it can be covered... Hopefully a reply comes soon.

Developers Program) that, until now, has been supported by small and
passionate team ensuring that experience of the service remains

Although we would have preferred to continue and focus on adding new
features and improvements to ZoomBet unfortunately currently there is
no way to cover the time and costs incurred to keep service available
for general use forcing us to make a decision to shut down the
service. This has been caused in part due to the growing popularity
(and increasing load on the backend systems) and due to the expiry of
commercial agreement with Betfair that was supporting the service
maintenance and development up to the end of April 2012. Although the
paid-for model is something we have considered, we don't think that it
would be practical to implement while keeping the costs for customers
reasonable.

Although it’s unlikely, we hope it will be possible to make service
publicly available again in which case we will make appropriate
announcements in Betfair Community – Betfair Mobile forums.

I'd definitely pay for Zoombet or something similar.

Betfair should put the developers on the payroll instead of pratting around with their useless Android app.

Now is your time to put your money where your mouth is and donate. Zoombet have put off their decision to close and is now accepting donations. Please donate for the software you use to win on Betfair and make it impossible for the developers to consider closing. Come on, you know Zoombet is the best program, now's the chance to show it.

Zoombet is aptly named.  I'd have been gutted if the developers had pulled this from the market.  I've an HTC Desire and have probably been using the app for the last year.  For the last 8 months I've been without a pc and Zoombet has been invaluable.

Those of you asking for market depth etc are missing the point.  This is an app obviously designed for speed with a slick interface.  Superb for betting in running with the ability to all green or square off your losses in two clicks.  If I'm out and have a mobile signal or home and have access to my wi-fi this is the best betfair app for for me.  I'd go so far as to say its the quickest betting app that I use including all the bookies' apps.  Definitely quality not quantity with Zoombet.

I have just made an overdue donation and like the forumites above would encourage other users to do the same.   [JJ:happy:]

Such a shame if it's true......I just had an e-mail from Betfair telling me that several apps incl Zoombet are being retired in a few weeks.

Now if only I could get hold of Karlis Zigurs (the author) to find out the real story.....

Has Betacular gone as well as it's still there but no market prices. Looked at Traderline and not in the same class and you gotta pay for it after 3 months.....why does Betfair continually destroy there product?
