I have been using BM app on my Blackberry Curve 8530 for around 6 months successfully. Yesterday when loading the app, underneath the Betfair Mobile Logo some 'spinning footballs' and a message 'Updating' appeared with a prompt to connect to Betfair Mobile to which I selected 'Yes'. This then opened in the Blackberry Browser to the Betfair Mobile site. Presuming that something needed updating I selected the 'Send Link by SMS to your phone'. Then I received a SMS with a link to the same page, thus going round in circles. I have removed Betfair from my mobile but still cannot get the link to work. Can anyone help?
Pause Switch to Standard View Betfair Mobile 'Updating', now won't...

Hi there guys,
Unfortunately this is a problem we are experiencing with a very small number of handsets. The problem stems from the back-end not recognizing your handsets as mobile phones. As i say, it is a problem we are aware of and are working on a fix.

In the meantime, i can suggest using Betfair Lite. You get all the exchange functionality you want, just in a stripped-down form built for mobile. Point your browser to lite.betfair.com to access.

Thanks for highlighting this, and i hope the above is helpful.

Had exactly the same on my curve 8520.
What I done was go to mobile link on main page  (http://www.betfair.com/onmobile/)
and from dropdown mdevice menu selected other device,
then sent txt to my phone.

I have a Nokia 5800 xpress and I also have same problem - I would suggest it is more than a few handsets with this problem????

I have the same problem on a Blackberry 9700.

No updates unfortunately guys... it's proving a tricky problem (though i know that's of no interest to you guys) as it stems from issues with a handset database outside of our direct control.

As above, you can use lite.betfair.com in the mean time. Hopefully you won't miss too many opportunities to get your bet on!

Apologies again for the inconvenience,
BF Mobile

Thanks for the update, but Betfair Lite is a poor substitute because you can't see settled bets or an account statement, though it is better than nothing.

Perhaps with the amount of posts by Blackberry users this page http://www.betfair.com/onmobile/blackberry.html should cease to exist?Sad

Have you given up BetfairMobile?

I'm having the same problem. I've been back and forth with Betfair Mobile but no luck.

I agree Lite.betfair.com is a poor substitute - at least for in play wagering. For horse racing, as an example, by the time you click the odds, confirm the bet etc. the odds have usually changed 10 times.

Is this strictly a blackberry issue?

How about running some sort of contest offering the new iphone or android phones as prizes (maybe 6 months of airtime too) :).

Me too was struggling with same problem on nokia 5350.Justlog on to mobile.betfair.com from mobile browser then go to 'download betfair mobile',fill up the form and proceed as directed. It will replace and download the same version of betfair mobile. Then restart the mobile put the password and it will work without any 'updating error'
