Elite Elle: Outstanding win in the Railway Stakes:

Trainer Grant Williams had three horses in the Railway Stakes field and he admitted after the race that he thought Elite Belle faced an impossible task from her position coming into the straight and confessed that he had shifted his attention to her stablemate Respondent.


For those that missed it the pogo stick reference above was to the callers comments (as I recalled) ......I listened live on the radio so didnt see it live

Elite Belle was settled towards the tail of the field in the early stages of the Railway Stakes and Pike managed to find the rail on the daughter of Canny Lad mare and she travelled into the race nicely, while The Cleaner set the pace in the early stages of the race.
The six-year-old looked as though she was going to be blocked for a run coming into the straight, but Pike managed to weave his way through the field and she hit the front at the right time to score a maiden win at Group 1 level in the Railway Stake

observation from the great day in the west yesterday...

Pikey rides longer in the irons than his counterparts ... and has his foot right in the stirrup unlike the east coast jocks who (all) ride just toe-in

Always has ridden that way and always will, he has kind hands and horses run for him and is patient and absolutely fearless. He's very humble and is a tremendously hard taskmaster on himself and is a hell of a nice guy. Pike is a genius at his craft and as Grant Williams said he's not called the wizard for nothing.

The camera was shaking so much I'm dizzy after watching that race at Scone

I was staring down the barrel of losing the cream on top of another very good week prior to the Railway after Disposition went down as had taken a number of decent double and trebles into it and when they missed I had a decent bet on Disposition itself who may have just come to the end of his tether.

I loved the way he still kept trying though and kept closing the gap, but its been a fair while now since that Northam maiden debut win and I did have that little nagging doubt that for some reason all the corps want to lay it prior to the weekend, including the WA TAB leading the charge at 2.35 on Thursday or Friday and they never lead the charge on anything. I should have listened to that nagging doubt.

However in the Railway I treated The Cleaner as a scratching yet again and backed Elite Belle and Balmont Girl strong also had something on Bass Strait and Ihtsahymn at odds and something on Mr Moet but had the quinella multiple multiple times Elite Belle and Balmont Girl plus having those with other chances but only small.
So the Railway was a huge result for me and actually enabled me to come from the clouds and be slightly in front on the day and I closed up shop.

Surprise, surprise The Cleaner was gonski on the corner

For mine The Cleaner can't possibly win, it doesn't quicken and he has zero excuses as virtually all of the main chances have drawn poorly but he's not up to winning a Group One against quality horses.

The only way he can possibly win in my opinion is if all the chances have bad luck in transit i.e. hard runs etc and if he gets a massively bias track, failing that he's impossible.

The race is an afterthought and comes at the end of a long arduous spring campaign and a really hard run on a very firm Flemington at his last start when despite being favoured by an on pace bias, he still couldn't win.

Not to mention the fact that he's giving some serious up and coming progressive horses 4 and 5kgs, that all adds up to him being the falsest of false favourites.

So if he wins he will have well and truly earned that victory, but for mine there are so many factors against him the fact that he is favourite on sentiment alone is laughable, this is not the ridiculous social media fantasy world it is the stark reality of racing.

Well done Lets. You da man.

Have a treble going today Ningbo into real love into disposition in the guineas, real love probably the slightly weaker link as dropping back 100m and up in class but its really progressive. Without including the whole message, or editing out the non relevant parts, I couldn't really include it, and if I edited the irrelevant parts out then as an edited document, it would be questioned anyway..  It will be there if it goes to trial, but for the mean time, all anybody needs to know, is I got this well before the race 


I really don't understand all the drama to be honest.
1.  He has no reason to lie.
2.  Most of the people calling him out for aftertiming have never posted a tip in their life.
3.  Apart from not providing any tips, all they provide is following people to abuse them on a forum.
4.  LE is far away from being any of the problems on this forum.
5.  This is a forum to talk about the topic at hand, in most of these cases, horse racing.  Him talking about horse racing is not breaking any rules.
6.  There have been challenges put up, and not one of the heroes calling others out was anywhere to be found.

I've been repeatedly falsely accused of the horrendous crime against humanity of god forbid being a so called after timer.

I've tipped repeatedly over the carnival and been far more often right than wrong, I declared the cleaner the falsest of false favourites several days prior to the Railway you can't get any more right than that, then once I had gone through the race properly I made Elite Belle and Balmont Girl top picks and bet accordingly, I replied to BJT about another matter and included what I was doing today if it was any help and what I had come up with in the Railway and didn't have time to post it anywhere else as I was busy.

I don't need anything from anyone other than to cease blatant lying about and falsely impugning my character but then again I wouldn't really expect anything else from some of the individuals on here.

Like I've said numerous times you can't win, you're pilloried for not tipping and then pilloried when you tip and get the odd one wrong as everyone does no matter how good a judge they are. I may not be the biggest or the best punter but my punting is constantly improving and evolving  and I've been winning consistently for a number of years now and I've always been a good judge and have repeatedly displayed that on here but hey each to their own and you won't have to worry I wont be making the mistake of tipping on here anymore.

And the question remains, why are you so desperate to be seen as a "great judge"?
