Anything you do, even non-stop losing bets, they keep chopping you back harder and harder.

It's slow, very annoying and 90% of the time bets are declined.  They just don't want anybody betting with them it seems so eventually you give up and go somewhere that lets you on.

I backed a horse at $26 tonight and when the shortened it to $13 i barreled up. I then couldn't have any more on it, but they left the $13 up. WTF is that about?

BTBS

My MAIN gripe ... as you say ... they LEAVE the price there - but tell you NO MORE !!!

Given it's happened to me at two different shops - they are ALL as bad as each other :-(

There should be a FIXED PRICE EXCHANGE - money in a single account - each bookie sends its OFFERS in with VOLUME - we hit em with money from our account !!

TOO EASY !

bookies.com.au

aka Bestbookies.

Think they are a group of WA bookies, that bet through this site.  To bet with them, they must bet the odds they offer as long as it still matches their boards when the bet hits the site or they no longer have access.

To be fair, I think for the most part the only active bookie is Topsport, but certainly for WA races, and Satudays etc, there are a few on offer.
Can take your pick of the bookie you want, or load them up through something like DynamicOdds, and simply have access to the best offer.

Certainly a good idea, that looks after the punters.  Would love something like that to take off, but the fact remains, bookies want to be able to pick and choose their clientele.

Isn't it strange that the locally owned Topsport keeps getting accolades, all justified for letting you on.
Now food for thought says but what about all the shrewdies taking overs and stripping the joint of any and all profit.
Gotta give it to Lloyd,he just works on the Bill W theory, let'em on.

lets them on alright but apparently at unders.

So if that happens why would the client
A)Take the price knowing they can get better elsewhere.
or
B)Do they take it knowing they can't get set elsewhere.

Most bookies are unders.  But they aren't always.

Done plenty of arbing with BB.  Aus, UK, doesn't matter, they pop up daily.

For the record, Pinnacle (the "new" Aus bookie) that were supposed to be it and a bit, are a direct copy of Topsport odds.
They informed me that the reason they claim they have the best odds and let everybody on, is because they don't compare them with other bookies, because no other bookie lets anybody on, so therefore, their claim that they have the best odds must be correct.
They do give a personalised service though.  When I emailed them at the beginning of their racing markets, I suggested that all the talk over the last few months that they would be worth the wait, was really just that, and that apart from offering nearly the worst odds in the country, they also were a direct clone of Topsport.
Apparantly that was enough for them to threaten me and try and close my account.
Fair question I thought.

Fair enough that most of the markets tend to get pretty close to each other, but when they are exactly the same, and then TS offer mistakingly 167.00 on a 16.00 horse, and of course Pinnacle follows suit, it doesn't take a genius to work out why.

And besides that, the talk of best limits, no banning, best odds, etc etc, my first bet was knocked back from 2000 liability to 1000, and was threatened with closed account within 2 days of their racing offering.

So why bother when you could just bet with Topsport?  Crazy

The transcript of Steve Fletcher's testimony makes interesting reading.
He testified that the corporates ban any punter that loses less than 7%. That's their cut off point to determine a punter that knows what he's doing.
He also testified that that if you open a bowler account your initial bets should always be on tote based products as that gets you marked down as a mug.

I read somewhere that Pinnacle were in the process of buying Topsport. So they may be using the same software.

got the dreaded message from bet 365 today

not sure why i am bothered they will still let me have .75 cents x $1.50 a runner tonight at GP

interestingly they do say restrictions apply except for NSW thoroughbreds so it does seem that that regulation is working

be good if all codes / states put that regulation in place

I don't blame Bet 365 or similar

They are a business and if they are allowed to do this, why not?

It's the racing authorities who need put minimum bet rules in place such as Racing NSW have for NSW thoroughbreds

Something might happen in ten years time if we are lucky ffs.

I just noticed their early markets for Globe today are all 135%. Previously they religiously put up 125%.

Not many overs with the extra %.

Craig , legally I can fck the next door neighbours 17 year old daughter, Doesn't make it right.
whats legal ain't always moral!!

Business should be a level playing field.

1- on course bookies don't have the option of refusing business
2- why can a business offer one customer a product and not the next customer. ACCC (the toothless tiger) should be having a crack at these mobs

Castiron there will always be overs when the bloke framing the market has no idea.

What they will find is that the more % they put up the smarter the business they will get.

The only business they do will be on the over.

Well i took Keeyang Steamer to win Vic Cup into Hunter Cup
Odds are $31 and $35 for $100

Odds should be $1085 but bet was accepted at Odds $424
I called up and they said if the horse wins Vic Cup then its odds will be fav, i said no it wont as different horses.
But they said Rules are rules if u back same horse.
I said what if  horse that is $50 but comes from last and runs 2nd by a sht half head and runs the quickest last half ever why should it matter.
He just said you cant back same horse in doubles and if you do 60% Reduction.
So dont ry taking Beutide into Beutide.

of course your double gets shorter if you win the 1st leg, but the others all get rougher. swings and roundabouts IMHO
