Not sure about "upgrading" once on-course. As far as I know all choices are pre-booked .
You've probably looked but...this has ticketing options. http://melbournecup.com/whats-on/plan-your-visit/visiting-flemington/ |

Not sure if The Precinct is a "Sold-Out" situation, even on the day or a day ors so before????
Poss GA Cup Day and have a look at what you're "missing out on"? before committing for the Thurs and Sat. |

I wouldn't recommend going. Last time I went was 1986. I couldn't back a winner and ended up going home with Lady Susan Renouf, who despite being an enthusiastic shag gave me a nasty dose of chlamydia.

As a party, it's grossly overpriced.
As a day at the races it blows goat. Unless you fork out the extra money (and plenty of it) for reserved seating you'll be watching the races on a screen. Might as well stay home and watch it on T.V. You'll certainly see a lot more. If you're on the lawn you will literally not be able to move. Getting a bet on will be a major logistical exercise. Getting a drink will cost a king's ransom and will be about as hard as getting a bet on. The only decent viewing spot at Flemington is the Hill Stand and the seats there will cost a fortune. The Members is a terrible place to watch the races from because you're behind plastic, except for the old stand which is much too low to get a decent view, the pylons obscure your view and it's about a furlong short of the winning post so a photo finish is anyone's guess. Then there's all the corporate areas which are OK if you're a B-list celebrity hoping to see a few A-list celebrities. But if you're interested in the races, forget it. I've only ever been to one Melbourne Cup ... 1997 ... Might And Power. Even though I finished in front on the day it was probably the most miserable day I've ever spent on a racecourse. Never again. If you want to see a big race meeting at Flemington the time to go is the autumn. Super Saturday. Australia Cup day. Check it out before it gets too popular and becomes just like Melbourne Cup day. |

.....it's good Spoonless.....but not quite in Bluffers class yet...........................BJT • April 11, 2014 2:19 PM BSTI backed Sunline once. Snuck down to the pub when I was about 17. Went down there and got on it, grabbed a form guide and made a real informed decision. Backed her in a trifecta. Had the fist pump going when it got up, went to get paid and had to wait as it was only the interim..... He was at it when he was 17 ffs........ ![]() ![]() ![]() |

You've been bobbing around so long in the Irish Sea, waiting for a nibble that you've lost your bearings, Pufinstuff .
Look at the depth of detail, the intricate depths of moaning in Philberg Pill's post. Reeks of subterfuge. No one could be so miserable, unless............... He's OLD !!! |

Don't get me wrong me wrong Spoonless.......as i've said it's very good.......he's still got a long way to go to topple the two after-timing kings on here......Bluffer and Letty
