Doesn't seem like Turnbull/Bishop and Morrison (for Treasurer) have the numbers YET but even if they miss now it's just a matter of waiting for the next stuff up and going at it again

We live in interesting times

yeah just as we thought, another useless party without a leader anywhere with ability to run the country. spend ninety percent of their time playing politics and will be a one term govt. for certain if they can't find a leader somewhere. I'm guessing they'll have to hold a musical chairs party at morning tea break to find one Mischief

Sounding more and more like there will be a spill on Monday - who do people want as PM?

A - Tony Abbott
B - Malcolm Turnbull
C - Julie Bishop
D - Scott Morrison
E - Christopher Pyne
F - Wyatt Roy
G - Another Liberal
H - Bill Shorten
I - Another Labor
J - None of the above

My preference is I followed by J followed by H followed by B - so IJHB

Among the cavalcade of ministers pledging their support for Prime Minister Tony Abbott there was one statement that really stood out - for all the wrong reasons.

Defence Minister Kevin Andrews followed his colleagues by calling a press conference to plead for unity amid the extraordinary leadership crisis gripping the Liberal Party.

"I believe the team of Tony Abbott and Julia Gillard is the best leadership team for the Liberal Party and therefore part of the best leadership team of the Coalition for the country," he said.

By:

When: 08 Feb 15 00:33
not the worst imo.... the expose of the greatest waste of taxpayers money ever in our history happens on the next four corners. Howard was responsible and it makes his other second greatest waste, the flying defenders that dont work, we haven't got and can't return, look like thrift. That little rodent was the worst ever and by a fair margin... abbott hasn't fked any taxpayers money anywhere near the same scale as little johnny.... he was the genuine a..e the country deserved for voting for him.

Jeff Kennett in a nice sort of summary called Abbott a arrogant prick.  Even the states want him gone.
By:

When: 08 Feb 15 06:56
I too hope they get rid of Abbott tomorrow and they do it decisively. Don't want the NSW libs to have to pay the price for getting rid of the pr!ck.

Turnbull's 60 and I don't think he's there to hang around and go through the motions.

Hopefully he will shake things up in a good way.

Interesting Very - and accurate I think, the Howard government started digging the hole we're in now - massive structural deficits via unsustainable increases in middle/upper class welfare

I really hope they do this right today and Abbott goes - sure I'll laugh about it for a bit if it does happen but after that I'll give the new PM a chance to fix things and throw out the policies that have us where we are now

Until then we still have the

27% public support as PM.   And holding the leadership by a smidgen over 5%.....Simple maths says the Liberal party are falling to pieces,   Throw in the Nationals are heading in the same direction as the defunct Democrats.   Is the drovers dog still around.?.

Perhaps to fix things we should have a one time payment of $900 to every dole bludging, dope smoking child molesting fcking flee bag in Australia.
Labour party vote against gay marriage, paid parental leave, etc.

Right or wrong, you have to respect the Libs for sticking by their man, no matter how disagreeable people may find him. The pathetic Labor merry-go-round is the reason he is here in the first place.

I wasn't talking about Abbott ted. I was talking about the party. Think that's pretty clear if you actually read what I wrote. People hated the merry-go-round, good on them for not going down the path. If they are headed for doom, they're gonna do it the old fashioned way.

reduce carbon emissions
increase population density,
reduce quality of life and

With 100% loyalty to the big end of town and ignoring enviroment totally the Liberal party can not survive over the next couple of decades.....suppose it will be forced to change.  Carbon Tax down the track is a certainty to return in one form or another.
