Must have a little bit of influence on the market - remember during the spring carnival they changed how they sent it out so people didn't miss out on prices. Now that might've just been a marketing ploy but I'm guessing if you get a a decent subscription base all betting the same way it will play a part.
Nothing from Mr Elephant this week - I'm guessing RW made a profit

my math aint the best but shouldn't the last column be 121 ? and that is assuming you got $3 Julianas & Sidestep who both started much much shorter seeing they apparently send them out 10-15min before each race you are guaranteed to be on at or near the bottom price you might as well just follow the TVN market mover

Still not a bad day Mr Elephant, and maybe you couldn't get top odds about a couple but Scandiva did pay 8.10 on tote and i'm sure longer was available on here

How much does the pension pay these days spy? i'm nearly there + i only bet in 50c units too so would have to back the card to break square but the issue is the same, you can have a 1000/1 the sets would be 100% fair dinkum all the time

As you said your maths is not the best........Return of 611 minus outlay of 440 = 171 units. Prices recorded at time of recieving message, with the exception of It's A Dundeel who I backed best tote, the fixed price was $1.3 when the email arrived.

Mr Elephant, maybe you should ask Mr Carnegie his opinion on whether the sets are fair dinkum as he obviously subscribes.
Mr Carnegie there is a mistake in your math as well, Unpretentious was scratched yet you have it as minus 5 units, so your win is even better than you claim

Right you are Unpretentious was scr'd at the barrier and I neglected to take it out, not a math error but my mistake all the same.
Yes I'm comfortable with the integrity of RW's sets - they were of much more use to me when they sent them out in full in the morning, since the change some of the bets have become problematic but that's an issue for me, it may or may not bother others. The problem with them coming through at the 10 minute in a way confirms the integrity of them, in that Rob's team has started backing the selections on course proir to the email going out and the price is gone by the time the email arrives. Julienas last week is a good example, it "top fluc'd" $3.4 but was $3 when the email arrived.......

Thanks for pointing out the error of my ways Mr Elephant, right you are there were 2 cells not being picked up in the total (2x25 units) so there you go, my mistake......
In regard to easter bunnies & wombats, if it makes you feel better to get that off your chest, I'm happy for you!
Mr Spy, you're right I am comfortable paying for information that is useful to me. I prefer to add and contrast it to my own work and that works for me but each to their own............

Simple answer to that Mr Elephant, Gai never mentioned it, and Gai will confirm it by saying she never mentioned it to anyone as in her opinion it was insignificant. RWs book will show he backed MJ for a good result.
What would be interesting to know is, at what stage of the betting did RW & TW money go on? Not that i'm alluding to anything untoward, but would be interesting if it went on after Singo blew up.

3 minutes? try .3 of a second, just joking, Gai was too busy to ring anyone pre race, after the race she probably rang Tommy to find out what all the kerfuffle was about.

I wonder if certain witness's in the case were Encouraged or Advised that they would be better off not showing up?
Of course, that wouldn't happen would it? Probably just my cynical mind.

Well he is so busy of a raceday, he can't remember everything
If they have more than 1 phone each, which theres a fair chance they do, TW may be proven correct

I think he deciphered it 100% correctly, just that Johns & Robbo had no idea what Singo would do with said info, and thats what has them scrambling more than scrambled eggs

"Not as bright as usual, hasn't laid down for a few days," a text from MJ strapper Dave Meijier to Gai Waterhouse
Gai was questioned over why records weren't kept of more joyous being given an antibiotic and an anti inflammatory injection.
More Joyous had sore neck & off her food on wed - unable to bend down to eat grass. Given regular anti-arthritis drug Cartrophen after that.
Gai Waterhouse admits horse was off her feed in days before race

Fair enough Elephant,So why did 2 vets give the all Ok on race morning ? Now if they question the other starters in the race they will have much the same info.
Just heard it's all been settled, the Human 4 legged Wikipedia,Gareth is at the desk on Sky,we don't need to know anything else for the day.

50/50 elephant have noticed the last 6 months an Increase in the amount of runners withdrawn at the barriers, all over the joint. Am thinking the Vet get's another $50 for consultation or Med Cert before the horse can leave the Course, another extra Gratis on Race day, everybody's in for their chop it seems.

Clinton Payne 6/05/2013 Singo fires off a barb at Tom during the hearing More Joyous’s owner John Singleton stated "someone must have got to him [Andrew Johns], Tom [Waterhouse]” in a flashpoint during the second part of the reconvened inquiry into the mare’s below par performance on the All Aged Stakes at Randwick on April 27.
Singleton gave evidence that at 12.13pm on April 27 that he received a phone call from retired jockey Allan Robinson to tell him that More Joyous was "off”.
Singleton said Robinson told him the advice came from a "mutual friend” but refused to name the individual other than to state he was a "rugby league immortal”.
Singleton then called Andrew Johns at 2.25pm "to confirm where he was getting his information from” and Singleton claimed Johns told him he’d "heard it from Tom [Waterhouse]”.
Singleton told the inquiry he was unable to recall if it was Johns or Robinson but one of the two told him "it [More Joyous] would come closer to last than first” as "the horse was off”.
Earlier that day, Singleton had been advised by his racing manager Duncan Grimley and vet John Peatfield that More Joyous had been treated over the past three days for "heat in her neck”.
"What it did was take an 'if' or a 'maybe' to certain it could not win,” Singleton said. "First I heard the horse couldn’t eat grass was from Andrew Johns or Allan Robinson.
"Duncan Grimley said, ‘They are on the money’.”
Singleton then again called Johns about 15 minutes after the 2.25pm call and told the inquiry that Johns reconfirmed his belief "the horse was off” at which point Tom Waterhouse interjected and stated that nowhere in Johns’ statement was the ‘off’ mentioned.
"Someone must have got to him, Tom,” Singleton fired off.
The inquiry continues.

Johns stated that he had two bets on April 27 "$100” on both "Coins and More Joyous”. He also stated he had no contact with anyone other than John Singleton but phone records confirmed that he had made a series of phone calls or text messages to well-known punter Eddie Hayson, who he described as an "acquaintance” and Newcastle trainer Kris Lees.

I wonder how many punters who live in the Newcastle area layed MJ on here?
Maybe judgey was in on it as well, he told me she couldn't win, his reason was she looked terrible in enclosure and behind the barriers. Come on judgey, cough up, did you receive a phone call?

I never spoke to (husband) Rob or Tom about More Joyous before the race," Waterhouse said.
... maybe not lol ... but surely the answer to any question should relate to 24 hours prior to the race
... any hardened punter who doesn't think MJ was right OFF on the day ... well what can i say
but who knew about it beforehand is what is interesting
tho who gives a fk about the punters eh ?

"The jockey can't think straight ... Nash isn't in a composed a situation as he normally would be joking onto the horse (with you there)," Mrs Waterhouse shot at Singleton.
"I am suggesting that (he didn't ride the horse well)."
But Mr Singleton rejected her claims firmly.
"Nash rode the horse perfectly," he said.

Mr Murrihy told the inquiry he had accessed the telephone records of all the main parties to the inquiry. ‘‘They do provide a very interesting matrix,’’ he said, to chuckles in the room.
