If you mean Racing, then yes we can
Report Siracusa January 1, 2013 6:30 AM GMT
@whoopi
I meant e.g. a cricket match taking place in e.g. England.

Once a sporting event goes in play it's phone betting only
Report Siracusa January 1, 2013 6:48 AM GMT
OK, thanks a lot.

If are overseas (i.e. outside Australia) on holiday are you still restricted to no online betting in-running on non-Australian markets?
Report Joel January 2, 2013 2:04 PM GMT
You mean if you're from overseas and you visit Australia? You are restricted.
If you are Australian and you go overseas, you are not restricted.

I know for a fact from here you can bet in the run on UK horseracing and I think international horseracing also as you can do it on dubai racing. You can do it on tennis as well but for that you have to call a betfair operator with horse racing though you can just do it immediately on the computer. for sports and other stuff aside from racing I imagine it would be the same as tennis, for other sports as I know for AFl you have to call up, the rule is stupid and very frustrating.

Wow, until now I'd always been unclear of what the UK racing term "tissue prices" meant.

Is there likely to be any change to aussie law in the offing? I saw online there was a report from may last year that reccomended changes. Is this any further down the track or has it been binned?
Report Live_in_Hope January 12, 2013 1:58 AM GMT
i spoke to prime minister gilliard last night and she said she would look at it again in august, perhaps take to cabinet and make a policy for the australian people to decide at the next election

AUSTRALIANS DO NOT HAVE ONLINE IN-PLAY SPORTS BETTING.

NOPE WE STILL DON'T HAVE IT.

WE ARE NOT GOING TO GET IT FOR FIVE YEARS AT LEAST.

EVERY SECOND WEEK SOMEONE COMES ON HERE AND SAYS, BUT I REALLY WANT IT!

GUESS WHAT, WE KNOW.  WE REALLY WANT IT TOO.  MAKES NO DIFFERENCE.

NOPE WE STILL DON'T HAVE IT.

PLEASE STOP ASKING ABOUT IT.

Need to make this a sticky.

Something will happen because atm I have never seen the bookies be so tight.

Compared to twenty years ago it is a total graveyard for punters.

Except for the odd bet here and there if you bet with a bookie you are a complete fool. It wouldn't surprise me if many fold in 10 years as they simply lake the sophistication!!

you simply do not have the options u used to have and the value just isn't there anymore. it is mature , consolidated and dying imo.

if the lid is not taken off the online restraint half the population will probably leave AusGrin through lack of opportunity and governments will not have the tax to support themselves.

you can't deny the people forever, life finds a way

we'll get it if Labor wins the election this year

In regards to this ....Abbott has said that "Every computer is a casino"....so if the Liberal Party get in there would be more chance of them closing rather than opening any further access to gambling on line. He is also going to scrap the National Broadband Network and commit the country to speeds akin to when the Libs were last in power.

He has also said in an interview that you can't trust him to tell the truth about any policy unless it is in writing.

Apparently he is favourite to win the next election.

Go figure.
