For horse that is so relaxed how worked up did she get, clearly wasn’t the horse we have come to know

She had to be pushed to get past Soul and beat it by a length ffs. Soul a listed horse at best here and this is our greatest ever sprinter, just hope she is alright would be a massive shame.

Any other horse I would say definitely not. But she is one of the most relaxed sprinters you will ever see.

I have never seen her get anywhere near that worked up before, was close to 10 lengths of her best imo

That was her 9th race this season, and she won them all. Not surprised she's just scraped home. I think her connections have got away with this but fair play to them for bringing her over.

She was very agitated imo stars, just was not the same horse I have seen over the last couple of seasons. Her action was different and she never really traveled like she does.

Just heard Peter Moody for thr first time after the race on sky, looks a done deal imo. Shame really..

Fellas, I live in HK and watch and have watched a lot of racing for 50 years. She is the 2nd best sprinter i have seen to Dayjur, and i have seen some good uns. But to compare her to the best i have seen internationally in that long is folly, she wouldn't hold a candle to Frankel - simple. BTW I'm not a pom

ANOTHER GREAT POST FROM ANOTHER FINE PIECE OF VERMIN

when will you aussies wake up and smell the sh1t that you are shovelingCrazy winning 21 soft races over their where the standard of horse is way way below the standard in europe, means nothing, the fact is she had 1 race over here against europe and she scraped home by a whisker lads and the whole world was watching,so there is no point in continuing to bang on about how amazing she isCrazy and that she is the best the world has ever seenCrazy

I have no doubt that you will all continue to shovel that, but it will only be aussies who believe it,as the world now knows the truthCool

Yes,she is a very good horse, but she is nothing special like you lead us to believe, now run along and make up more fantasy stories around the barbieLaugh

HRE, you're not covering yourself in glory here. Confused

Don't know how any true racing fan can be happy that she struggled. Anyone who loves racing loves seeing brilliant performances from great horses, unfortunately today for some reason she was evidently well below form.

by making the above statement,it is you who are not covering youself in glory sir,how on gods earth can you just say that today for some reason she was not at her best, you have absolutely nothing to back that up,you are just talking rubbish cause she is clearly not as good as you thought she was,

You saying that is no different to me saying that i believe that FRANKEL was knowhere near his best this week and that i believe he is 20lbs better than that,

Then we could also go on to say that even if she was slightly below her best, that also shows that she is nothing special,as you have had a number of other horses that have come over here and delivered with out making excuses, including othere fillies and mares,so that would make BC soft as she could not deliver what you believe is her best
Report Slabster June 24, 2012 12:07 AM BST
It is plain as night follows day that she was below form. Soul's performance in Australia leave him way below the level of Black Caviar. She was on a hiding to nothing coming over here really. If she had won easily you'd say she has beaten nothing of note (even though I rate Moonlight Cloud as a very smart filly).

I don't know what you're trying to gain coming on here and gloating like you've achieved some sort of personal victory, that shouldn't be what this sport is about. This sport should be about celebrating champions, and she most certainly is one.

Your constant bragging reflects badly on yourself, but I doubt that bothers you one bit! Crazy

She is a very good horse,of that there is no doubt, but the arrogance of the aussies to immediately state after the race that she was clearly way below her best is distgusting pathetic and an embarrassment, just because she did not win easily, how dare you just assume you can come over and walk over a horse of the ability of Moonlight Cloud and others, she came over and she won her group 1 and has remained  unbeaten,my advice would be,to be happy with that and shut your mouths, instead of coming out with all the crap about how she was clearly way off her best and underperformed, you have absolutely nothing to base that on,the fact that she ran 10.78 or whatever it was says she produced her best
Report Thebas June 24, 2012 12:22 AM BST

'How dare I assume', 'Shut my mouth'?

For starters I assumed nothing HRE. If you start assuming things in this game you won't last long. I thought Black Caviar was very beatable today due to a combination of the ground, the trip, and the fact she's been on the go for the past 6 months, hardly an ideal prep in my opinion. At her best I think she would have pulled out another few lengths.

Why should I shut my mouth? This is an internet forum, where intelligent discussion is encouraged. However you seem to be reveling in the lack of a superstar performance from her. As a lover of racing I wanted nothing more than to see her do something phenomenal, why shouldn't we enjoy watching great horses run as opposed to putting them down at the first sign of vulnerability? Remember, it was only a year ago that Frankel didn't look oh so bombproof after the St James's Palace.
Report megsy June 24, 2012 12:40 AM BST
again, well said, they forget about the st james palace. she's ticked all the boxes, cant do anymore, she should be home in the spelling paddock after a long 6 months.
she's a mare who travelled half way around the world and still, she was the first mare in 26 years to win the diamond jubilee, that alone is a great effort.

ONLY THOSE WHO ARE MAKING EXCUSES AND WRITING ABOUT HOW SHE WAS HUGELY BELOW HER BEST NEED TO SHUT UP,SECONDLY,THE GROUND WAS OFFICIALLY 'GOOD' SO THAT WONT WASH,THIRDLY,AS I STATED EARLIER,PLENTY OF OTHER AUSSIE HORSES HAVE MADE THE TRIP MANY OF TIMES AND STILL BEEN ABLE TO PRODUCE THEIR BEST,SO I'M NOT HAVING THAT EITHER,LASTLY

Also, for what its worth, many people including myself have Frankels st james palace win as his most impressive feat, for a horse to be able to kick for home a full 4 and a half furlongs out and still have the ability and class to last home was truely astounding,it was a terrible ride and the hourse had no right to be able to last home and win that race

Some expert, maybe you should check yours facts.

Facts and figures don't lie, Black Caviar ran 1.1seconds faster that a mile superior in anyones language.

Furthermore racing victoria didn't have a watering policy back then to artificially create a dead track condition before each race meeting as the ideal surface so Black Caviar's performance was vastly superior.

But I suppose you know more than Choisir's trainer and that of Miss Andrettti's trainer and Scenic Blast's trainer and Takeover Target's trainer etc who have all repeatedly stated publicly theur horses aren't and never were even in the same street as Black Caviar.

"UNBEATEN Black Caviar was on Sunday night diagnosed with two muscle tears and severe bruising to her hind quarters following her famous win in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot."

"Given the vagaries of travel, Nolen's riding blunder and the injuries the mare sustained during the race, the Diamond Jubilee Stakes may now go down as one of her greatest of her 22 wins."

"Black Caviar certainly wasn't at her supreme best but she was still able to win the 12th Group 1 win of her career, taking her prizemoney to more than $6.5 million."
