In 2007, Dave Mason released a new album - "Reelsville" - on Liberation Blue. Dave performed one gig to launch the album at 'the Basement' in Sydney on 16 May 2007. A further gig is booked for 'the Factory Enmore Theatre' in Sydney on 24 May 2008. This show became a local cause celebre when police with sniffer dogs arrested two 60 year old punters for smoking illegals.

Dave Mason appeared on Episode 114 of 'RocKwiz' on Australian SBS TV, broadcast on Saturday 26 March 2011. Dave performed The Reels' 'Quasimodo's Dream' and ended the show in a duet with Sally Seltmann doing the Conway Twitty song 'As Soon As I Hang Up The Phone.'

THE REELS --original 3 members out of 5-(When I first saw them they had 5 members including a sheila)-played a gig in Melbourne--2008--Sydney Road Brunswick--not sure which pub??---Its on You Tube....shocking quality though.Probably done  on someones phone.....But brung back huge memories--Didnt even know about the gig..Spewing big time ..ps--Mentals was another great band I did see live a few times...ps--I have the first reels album called "THE REELS"--which cant be found anywhere --I probably have 1 of only 2 copys in existence--Brilliant songs,most of which cant be found anywhere.Not on You TUBE..I myself, cant even play the record ,havent got a turntable..Will be getting it put on to hard drive or disk X-MAS time...Cant wait--along with about 100 other albums  that I have had  sitting  in a cupboard for a long time.Mostly classic Aussie stuff,with plenty of LIMITED EDITION VINYL records in fancy colours..Got a limited edition-PINK coloured -DIVYNLS Album....Not to mention MIDNIGHT OIL--POWDER WORKS---LIMITED EDITION..BILLY THORPE--CHILDREN OF THE SUN-Limited edition-and heaps more stuff,everything from JO JO ZEP--To SWEET AND SOUR--.Probably gunna put up the collection on E-BAY once Ive got them on hard-drive/Disk...ps--I know Dave Mason had huge problems with depression..Poor bloke...
