105 entries in total, weights out in a couple of weeks... only one play for me thus far, O O Seven... not sure if this one is qualified as yet as not achieved first four finish in a 3 mile chase, but I may be wrong... big plus is no entry for Whisper, had a play on that one for the Gold Cup @ 130...

Carole's Destrier will be interesting. On it's Hennessy form it will be the best handicapped horse in the race. Of course that's assuming there has been nothing wrong with the horse and it's subsequent failures are down to heavy going. Silsol could also be a live outsider if it gets there.

Good shout with Silsol, Bindaree... that Chepstow run was eye catching... entered for Haydock in two weeks... current mark of 144 might make things difficult... the other two I like are Regal Encore and Tiger Roll... loathed to have a bet at the prices though... backed Silsol @ 110 on here...

Tiger Roll will obviously stay 4 miles the jumping is another point altogether

Warriors Tale has an interesting profile. Ran a career best last time behind Wakanda and still unexposed over longer trips. Looks sure to get a run off a feather weight, goes on any ground and a good jumper.
It is not published news but horse has been privately purchased by Trevor Hemmings (who loves a national), remains in training with Paul Nichols. Ideal profile as a 9yo and I can see being a lot shorter on the day compared with current price (generally 50/1) |

I have backed several , some already mentioned like Silsol and O O Seven . At really big prices Carlingford Lough and Road To Riches are worth a speculative punt .
And at 1000 Relentless Dreamer is overpriced . He will be well weighted , with recent form . Will need luck to get in but it is worth the minimum stake at 1000 . |

c'mon someone - match my remaining 26p @220 on Silsol as 1.74 is a silly amount to have on. If the idiot @120 would kindly take his bet down I'd be most grateful as well!

Bit disappointing to hear Nicholls say Silsol needs it "bottomless". I know it acts on soft but I was rather hoping it would be as effective on good/soft as the chances of it being really heavy in the GN are fairly remote.

Looking at it's form it has gone well on good going before so I can't understand why he has said that.

I thought heavy ground would test him .

My thinking was he was maybe a s/gs horse as well - may well run in the haydock race on sat by the looks of it - Fehily booked, had a small interest at 20's. Maybe needs a few lbs higher to make the (nat) cut 'definite'.

As per my post on 6th Feb. The racing post is now showing WARRIORS TALE as purchased by Trevor Hemmings on the 14th Feb.
Still unexposed and although not proven at the trip, it has the same sire as seeyouatmidnight and sizing john, and could easily improve for the step up. Guaranteed a run off a nice weight, quiet season and layed out for the race. Surprised there is still some 50/1 around. |
