Put up in November last year. I'm glad someone else has finally noticed his excellent credentials! Got a fair bit matched at prices from 130-200. Can't wait for the big day! Seems to go on any ground too although I think having it soft would be best as it would inconvenience a few more in the field. |

I couldn't normally give a hoot about 'stats' like this but, out of interest, I wonder who the last Maiden Steeple Chaser to win the National was?! Quite a way to break your duck.

Totally agree with the OP.
Of course you could ponder on the maiden tag but a 2nd in the Irish Grand Nation overrides the maiden issue. He also had that element of class over hurdles, running against the likes of The New One in the Neptune and More Of That in the World Hurdle, so have we seen the best of him over fences? Perhaps he wants better ground than the Irish heavy, he will be up with the pace and i like his chances of running a big race. |

The maiden tag does not bother me one bit. Quality staying placed form is better than having won a moderate race.
Commanche Court was a maiden when he won the Irish Grand National. |

Has a Mon mome like profile where afterwards it will look obvious. Has had 5 runs this season too, think added fitness on testing ground is a bonus. The last few nationals that have been run on soft or worse have been won by horses aged 9-11 and have had at least 5 runs.

Good work fellas. Had a long look at him last night and the Irish National 2nd was very eyecatching, but couldn't get away from him never having won a chase, and you've got to be brutal in sifting through 40 horses or you back half the field.

Very well done.
Paul Jones put this horse up ante post also. |

I have been a poker pro for the last 8 years, not sure any of my poker results have topped this, even though they have been for more money. The only time I have felt the same way was when i won my 2nd ever mtt after reading harrington on holdem way back in 2005. Not sure why it is, guess it just because it is a hobby rather than work.

very well done...
wouldn't have touched this horse as generally I don't back irish horses in the national... but still fantastic tipping there considering rain downpour not anticipated as it was... |
