Something dodgy going on here?? To say most people think the horse has very little chance of running, someone is willing to put £1500 up tonight and risk losing it knowing decs are tomorrow and he may not make the cut. You wouldn't would you unless you knew something we don't. Am I being too cynical??

Money back if balloted out?

are you being serious? or is this a wind-up? ok, if you're fairly new to horse racing here is the explanation:

1. tomorrow is just the 5 day declaration stage, the final declaration stage is later in the week

2. at the final declaration stage if the horse is still entered, and is balloted out, then the bet is void and you get your stake back

Cause of Causes is not entered at any other race at Aintree so is highly likely to be declared after tomorrow, and therefore stakes will be refunded if missing out

Thanks for that bloob. I was aware of the ballotted out scenario but thought it only applied to the 4 reserves who didn't get a run after Thursday.Little did I know but makes sense then why the money is up if there are no worries about losing stakes.I shall scuttle back off under my stone again...

no probs thelastfling, at least it wasn't a wind-up! antepost markets are a bit of a minefield and plenty of punters don't know the way things work
