It's curious why folk talk about weight and not rating when it comes to the National. Trainers do it too. It's like all normal rules of racing get suspended for this race. Imo Many Clouds hasn't 'gone up a 1lb', he's got a considerably harder task than he did last year and I'm amazed a few books haven't gone after him. Maybe they know he'll be backed whatever.
If the horse was on 11st 2lb and everything else was on 10st should we lump on because "he's been dropped 7lbs"?

I agree i think Many Clouds has been given a hard task 5 spots higher i wasn't expecting that much. Holywell looks thrown in,hoping for signs of life in his next run.

Runners and weights with latest quotes - feel free to copy and paste any new quotes in bold as we go
1) MANY CLOUDS (IRE) 9-11-10 165 Trevor Hemmings Oliver Sherwood Phil Smith: Many Clouds is only set to carry a pound more than last year, although he is technically running off a five pound higher mark. All that tells you is that it is a four pound better race this year. Physically, he will be carrying only a pound more, but the opposition is tougher. I debated for a while about who would be top-weight because I am a big Don Poli fan. I think based on the result at Aintree last year it was only reasonable that Many Clouds is top-weight. Oliver Sherwood: I was staggered by the worldwide response to Many Clouds' win last year with interest from everywhere including Japan, America and Australia. I couldn't believe how much the Grand National means to the rest of the world. I was expecting 11st 10lb, anything less would have been a bonus. There are two Gold Cup and two King George winners in the race which says a lot for the race and where it is going. Many Clouds will head to Kelso before Aintree for a Listed race 10 days before Cheltenham. It is very different to last year when he was being trained for the Gold Cup with the National something of an afterthought. It is very important Leighton Aspell rides Many Clouds. Nobody else has ridden him in a race or schooled him. After two Grand Nationals, his confidence must be sky high. 2) DON POLI (IRE) 7-11-09 164 Gigginstown House Stud Willie Mullins IRE Phil Smith: I am a big Don Poli fan. He is a horse that I am very sweet on and I don't think we have got anywhere near the bottom of him yet. He is the most fascinating horse in the race in my opinion. Patrick Mullins: Don Poli and Valseur Lido are similar types of horses. The further they go the better they are. The plan for both is to go for the Gold Cup then re-evaluate with regards to Aintree, but they are entered to have the option. 3) SILVINIACO CONTI (FR) 10-11-08 163 Potensis Bloodstock Ltd & Chris Giles Paul Nicholls Paul Nicholls: Silviniaco Conti is going to run at Ascot on Saturday. We will skip Cheltenham as he is obviously much better on a flatter track. With the form he has this season and the problems he has had there is no point running in the Gold Cup. He will either run at Aintree in the National or the Bowl. He is 10 and coming to the twilight of his career. I thought he would be the ideal horse for the race, it is just whether we leave it for a year or have a crack this year. 4) CARLINGFORD LOUGH (IRE) 10-11-07 162 J P McManus John Kiely IRE 5) VALSEUR LIDO (FR) 7-11-06 161 Gigginstown House Stud Willie Mullins IRE Patrick Mullins: Don Poli and Valseur Lido are similar types of horses. The further they go the better they are. The plan for both is to go for the Gold Cup then re-evaluate with regards to Aintree, but they are entered to have the option. 6) HOUBLON DES OBEAUX (FR) 9-11-05 160 Mrs Julian Blackwell Venetia Williams Venetia Williams: Houblon Des Obeaux (11st 5lb) has got a stone more for winning what was probably a highfaluting veterans' chase which I think is quite steep. It has to be decided whether he will run. He is nine and might have next year as an option. 7) FIRST LIEUTENANT (IRE) 11-11-04 159 Gigginstown House Stud Mouse Morris IRE Mouse Morris: I'll have to report back to the boys (Gigginstown House Stud) and see what they think about First Lieutenant. It (Aintree) would be in the pot, but I wouldn't be jumping up and down about it (allotted weight), put it that way. There's also the Irish Grand National, so we'll see how he gets treated in that. 8) FOXROCK (IRE) 8-11-03 158 Barry Connell Ted Walsh IRE Katie Walsh: Foxrock is ideal for a National, whether it is this year or next year, I am not too sure. He has the size and scope to carry the weight. He is at that divide at the moment where he is not a Gold Cup horse, but he is a high-class handicapper. He must have a chance but who knows what will happen. Barry Connell: He's fine, I don't know what the plan is yet, but I don't think Aintree is on the agenda. We'll wait and see, but I don't think the Grand National will be part of the plan. 9) WONDERFUL CHARM (FR) 8-11-03 158 Robin Geffen Paul Nicholls Paul Nicholls: Wonderful Charm and Just A Par are both horses that are better in the spring. They need decent ground. Just A Par won the Bet365 last year and it's a waste of time running him in the winter on soft ground. Arguably he is well handicapped as he has not fulfilled his potential. Wonderful Charm ran well at Cheltenham in the autumn and I think he will be going to Doncaster on March 5, then Aintree as he just wants decent ground. 10) BALLYNAGOUR (IRE) 10-11-02 157 Allan Stennett David Pipe 11) THIRD INTENTION (IRE) 9-11-02 157 Robert and Sarah Tizzard Colin Tizzard 12) GILGAMBOA (IRE) 8-11-01 156 J P McManus Enda Bolger IRE Enda Bolger: He's obviously well up there in the weights. I'm not sure what the plan is for the spring. He's just on a little break at the moment and it's still early days. We'll definitely give the National serious consideration. I'd say Cheltenham would be looking doubtful at this stage. 13) LORD WINDERMERE (IRE) 10-11-01 156 Dr Ronan Lambe Jim Culloty IRE 14) O'FAOLAINS BOY (IRE) 9-11-01 156 Trembath, Hyde, Outhart & Hill Rebecca Curtis Rebecca Curtis: O'Faolains Boy had a flop at Cheltenham but his wind was under pressure and we have re-done his palate problem. We are going for the Gold Cup and if he comes out that well we may run in the National as well. I think he is the perfect National horse and if he doesn't go for it this year he is still not too old. 15) ON HIS OWN (IRE) 12-11-01 156 Andrea & Graham Wylie Willie Mullins IRE Patrick Mullins: On His Own has 11st 1lb. He was second in a Gold Cup but he is 12-years-old now and he kind of has his days where he gets up on the right side and wrong side of the bed. I'd love to ride him and to ride in the National would be a dream - 11st 1lb would be light for me but I've got a long time to prepare for it. He has run in it twice and fallen twice, but beggars can't be choosers. 16) SAM WINNER (FR) 9-11-01 156 Angela Yeoman Paul Nicholls 17) THE DRUIDS NEPHEW (IRE) 9-11-00 155 The Stonehenge Druids Neil Mulholland Neil Mulholland: He's got 5lb more than last year and I've got to be happy with that. I was hoping the handicapper wouldn't get carried away and give him more than 11 stone considering he only had 10st 9lb last year. He won at the Cheltenham Festival last year and he looked like running a big race at Aintree. It's been the plan this year. Last year it was Cheltenham and then we carried on to Aintree, but Aintree is the plan this time. He will either go for the BetBright Chase at Kempton or the Grimthorpe at Doncaster. If the ground is good we will take our chance at Kempton, if not it will be Doncaster. It is all about the good ground. It is a long way around there (Aintree) but at least we know he has the ability to be competitive. 18) TRIOLO D'ALENE (FR) 9-11-00 155 Sandy & Caroline Orr Nicky Henderson Nicky Henderson: We will certainly run all three of horses if possible - Triolo d'Alene (11st), Bear's Affair (10st 7lb) and Hadrian's Approach (10st 6lb). Triolo is good and won at Kempton Park the other day over two and a half miles. He has won a Hennessy and a Topham (over the Grand National fences). Winning a Topham is quite easy but the Grand National is impossible - I don't know why these horses cannot go around twice at Aintree. Triolo loved it the last time he was at Aintree and jumped beautifully. He will probably go to Ascot this weekend. 19) WOUNDED WARRIOR (IRE) 7-11-00 155 Gigginstown House Stud Noel Meade IRE Noel Meade: It's highly unlikely he's going to run. He came back lame from Leopardstown and we're waiting for the vet to assess him, so we'll see. 20) ROCKY CREEK (IRE) 10-10-13 154 The Johnson & Stewart Families Paul Nicholls 21) ROI DU MEE (FR) 11-10-13 154 Gigginstown House Stud Gordon Elliott IRE 22) SIR DES CHAMPS (FR) 10-10-13 154 Gigginstown House Stud Willie Mullins IRE Patrick Mullins: Boston Bob and Sir Des Champs are horses that are probably 'well in' on their best form. They've both been disappointing on their last few runs. Sometimes, though, you get these older horses that get a new lease of life in these unique races. I think they've got two nice weights if they can rediscover their old form. 23) HOLYWELL (IRE) 9-10-12 153 Gay Smith Jonjo O'Neill Jonjo O'Neill: I'm happy enough with both horses. They both need decent ground and they are two nice runners to have in the race. Shutthefrontdoor is in at the weekend and if it dries up enough we will run him and Holywell will probably go to Cheltenham I'd say for the race he won before. McCoy: I do like Holywell, too - if he is in the right frame of mind he is a very capable horse. He has not shown it yet this season, but that is the time of year he shows it. He could perform well in it. 24) SHUTTHEFRONTDOOR (IRE) 9-10-11 152 J P McManus Jonjo O'Neill Jonjo O'Neill: I'm happy enough with both horses. They both need decent ground and they are two nice runners to have in the race. Shutthefrontdoor is in at the weekend and if it dries up enough we will run him and Holywell will probably go to Cheltenham I'd say for the race he won before. Obviously if you are a jockey you would rather ride Shutthefrontdoor as he has been around there and run well, but he didn't get the trip. He is a year older and stronger. He ran a little bit free last year. Hopefully he will relax a little bit more. Shutthefrontdoor is qualified for the Pertemps (Final, at Cheltenham), but it would have to be nice ground for him to run in that. Ideally I'd prefer to miss Cheltenham with him as he would be better with a longer break. McCoy: If I go down this year's list I think Shutthefrontdoor will run a big race. 25) SOLL 11-10-11 152 Derrick Mossop David Pipe David Pipe: Soll loves the ground there and jumps well. He has bleeding issues and was running a big race until that happened last year. He goes to Kelso and we will see what happens after that. 26) AACHEN 12-10-10 151 Tony Bloom Venetia Williams Venetia Williams: I think Aachen (10st 10lb) will definitely run in the race if I can get him there - believe me that is the challenge. He is a talented horse but it is quite a challenge to get him to the races. Fingers crossed. 27) BOSTON BOB (IRE) 11-10-10 151 Andrea & Graham Wylie Willie Mullins IRE Patrick Mullins: Boston Bob and Sir Des Champs are horses that are probably 'well in' on their best form. They've both been disappointing on their last few runs. Sometimes, though, you get these older horses that get a new lease of life in these unique races. I think they've got two nice weights if they can rediscover their old form. 28) BUYWISE (IRE) 9-10-10 151 T Hywel Jones Evan Williams 29) TURBAN (FR) 9-10-10 151 Edward O'Connell Willie Mullins IRE Patrick Mullins: Turban has to finish in the first four in a three-mile race. He was running very well in the Topham last year when he came down. If we could qualify him he would go but if not he would go for the Topham. 30) DOUBLE ROSS (IRE) 10-10-09 150 Options O Syndicate Nigel Twiston-Davies Nigel Twiston-Davies: Double Ross (10st 9lb) will definitely get in and he is lovely. 31) MORNING ASSEMBLY (IRE) 9-10-09 150 Clipper Logistics Group Ltd Pat Fahy IRE That's a lovely weight. I'm not sure he's ever carried a weight that low since he's been racing. He just struggled in the ground in Gowran over the weekend. He was finding it hard to jump out of it, so he ran a very good race in the circumstances. He's come out of it well. We've had him checked over and he's totally sound and everything is fine. The Grand National is the main aim with him and everything is just slotting into place. All being well we'll go for the three-mile-one-furlong handicap chase on the first day of Cheltenham and then on to Aintree. We have the measure of him, we know how to have him sweet and fresh and hopefully it's onwards and upwards from here. 32) GALLANT OSCAR (IRE) 10-10-08 149 J P McManus Tony Martin IRE 33) GOONYELLA (IRE) 9-10-08 149 Ann & Alan Potts Partnership Jim Dreaper IRE Jim Dreaper: He has what weight he has and that's that. The handicapper has probably given him a few extra pounds for his form over four miles, but you expect that. We're just hoping to get him there fit and well on the day and if you could arrange a wet week beforehand it would be very much appreciated! 34) LE REVE (IRE) 8-10-08 149 Pat Betts Lucy Wadham Phil Smith: There are one or two horses that have got really good form over the last three or four months. Kruzhlinin is one and the horse he beat, La Reve, who has won subsequently which is something you like to see - it looks strong form. 35) LONG RUN (FR) 11-10-08 149 Robert Waley-Cohen Robert Waley-Cohen Robert Waley-Cohen: He is all right at the moment after having a problem with a foot a few weeks ago. He is now back cantering but he is not going to get to the Foxhunters' at Cheltenham. We had to have a saver in the National just in case. Long Run was going sweetly at the time when he came down at Valentine's first time around in 2014. He has not run for 22 months now so we will find out more when we run him back. He was rated 182 when he won the Gold Cup and he is now 149 in the Crabbie's Grand National. He is 11 and won his first Grade One at three so he has been going a very long time. 36) ONENIGHTINVIENNA (IRE) 7-10-08 149 Judith Luff Philip Hobbs Philip Hobbs: I think the main thing about Onenightinvienna is he stays forever, he has a fantastic attitude and his jumping, touch wood, has been very good. Hopefully he will pass the test in the Reynoldstown at Ascot on Saturday. If he does he would not run again after that. 37) THE LAST SAMURI (IRE) 8-10-08 149 Paul & Clare Rooney Kim Bailey Kim Bailey: We have an outstanding chance. He has won at Kempton, jumps very well and gets the trip. He is the ideal National horse. He will run at Doncaster at the beginning of March. Phil Smith: About a year ago I was talking to the sponsors about a horse called the Last Samuri and he has done nothing but improve. 38) UCELLO CONTI (FR) 8-10-08 149 Simon Munir Gordon Elliott IRE Gordon Elliott: Ucello Conti (10st 8lb) and Cause Of Causes (10st 1lb) would be my main ones for the race. I think the National is made for Ucello Conti and Daryl Jacob will ride him. Phil Smith: For reasons that I am unaware of, he went right the way around the outside last time out, but if he does the same sort of thing at Aintree, they'll be selling tickets to Goodison Park. 39) UNIONISTE (FR) 8-10-08 149 John Hales Paul Nicholls 40) BEAR'S AFFAIR (IRE) 10-10-07 148 G B Barlow Nicky Henderson Nicky Henderson: We will certainly run all three of horses if possible - Triolo d'Alene (11st), Bear's Affair (10st 7lb) and Hadrian's Approach (10st 6lb). Bear's Affair has won twice over the Mildmay Course at Aintree but that has no relevance to the Grand National course. He is in good form though. 41) KRUZHLININ (GER) 9-10-07 148 Paul & Clare Rooney Philip Hobbs Philip Hobbs: In the end Kruzhlinin won easily enough at Kempton as it looked like he was struggling for a bit down the back straight, but he will come on a bundle and he won well. He definitely has a tendency to go a bit left but that won't be an issue around Aintree. Whether he runs before, I don't know. The BetBright Chase is an option, while he could run on the Tuesday at Cheltenham in the Ultima Business Solutions Chase. Phil Smith: There are one or two horses that have got really good form over the last three or four months. Kruzhlinin is one and the horse he beat, La Reve, who has won subsequently which is something you like to see - it looks strong form. 42) RULE THE WORLD 9-10-07 148 Gigginstown House Stud Mouse Morris IRE Mouse Morris: Rule The World could go - I wouldn't say no, anyway. He could be a great ride round there. There's also the Irish National for him, so I'll discuss it with the owners. 43) BALLYCASEY (IRE) 9-10-06 147 Susannah Ricci Willie Mullins IRE Patrick Mullins: Ballycasey is probably our most likely runner. He only got to the Canal Turn where he got an extra obstacle in Balthazar King which took him out of the race. His two runs this year have been disappointing, but I don't think he goes on the tacky Irish winter ground anymore. He has got 10st 6lb and this is a horse that beat Don Cossack and Carlingford Lough in the Moriarty. There might be a slight question mark over his stamina, but I think with that weight and class he has he has to be taken seriously. I think Ballycasey has the weight. He took to the course last year and we are putting his problems down to the ground and that's what we are seeing. 44) BLACK THUNDER (FR) 9-10-06 147 Donlon, MacDonald, Fulton & Webb Paul Nicholls 45) HADRIAN'S APPROACH (IRE) 9-10-06 147 Richard & Lizzie Kelvin-Hughes Nicky Henderson Nicky Henderson: We will certainly run all three of horses if possible - Triolo d'Alene (11st), Bear's Affair (10st 7lb) and Hadrian's Approach (10st 6lb). Hadrian's Approach has not run for a bit but he is in really good shape. We were going to go to Kelso for the Ivan Straker race but sadly, with the ground likely to be very soft up there, I don't think we will be making the journey. So Hadrian has to find another route to Aintree. He has won a bet365 and good ground is going to be important. 46) JUST A PAR (IRE) 9-10-06 147 Graham Roach & Paul Barber Paul Nicholls Paul Nicholls: Wonderful Charm and Just A Par are both horses that are better in the spring. They need decent ground. Just A Par won the Bet365 last year and it's a waste of time running him in the winter on soft ground. Arguably he is well handicapped as he has not fulfilled his potential. 47) KATENKO (FR) 10-10-06 147 Andrew Brooks Venetia Williams 48) LIVING NEXT DOOR (IRE) 10-10-06 147 John Breslin Tony Martin IRE 49) THUNDER AND ROSES (IRE) 8-10-06 147 Gigginstown House Stud Sandra Hughes IRE Katie Walsh: Thunder And Roses was not that fancied when he won the Irish Grand National but he would have a chance on his form. Gigginstown, the owners, have a lot of horses in the Crabbie's Grand National and we will see. Sandra Hughes: I'm happy with the weight for Thunder And Roses - it's the same weight off which he won the Irish Grand National last year. 50) VICS CANVAS (IRE) 13-10-06 147 Bodeen Bandits Partnership Dermot McLoughlin IRE Dermot McLoughlin: You'd have to be happy with that weight and he only needs 10 horses above him to come out, so you'd be hopeful he'll get in. He's in good form and might run at Fairyhouse this weekend if the ground isn't too bad. The ground in Ireland is like superglue at the moment, so we'll see. I'd say he'll just have one run and then go to Aintree. He's very straightforward and we can get him there nice and fresh. 51) KATKEAU (FR) 9-10-05 146 Prof Caroline Tisdall, J A Gent, R C Wilkin David Pipe 52) MENDIP EXPRESS (IRE) 10-10-05 146 David Maxwell Racing Limited Philip Hobbs 53) PENDRA (IRE) 8-10-05 146 J P McManus Charlie Longsdon 54) SAINT ARE (FR) 10-10-05 146 David Fox Tom George Tom George: I was very proud of the horse last year and look forward to 2016. He may run at Doncaster or Newbury. He is very much a spring horse and thrives at this time of year. He is working better now. I suppose it was predictable the weight he's received. I'm totally happy with him. He had a couple of runs early in the season which we had to give him as we couldn't leave him until the spring. He is definitely a spring horse and is ticking along well at home. He will run in a veterans' race at either Doncaster or Newbury as he is now 10, so he qualifies for them. I am probably slightly leaning towards Newbury. That should put him spot on. You can see a difference in him now as his summer coat has started to come through. He was the first one in the yard last year to have his summer coat and it is probably the same this year. I don't think his age is a worry - I think it's a good age if anything. 55) SPRING HEELED (IRE) 9-10-05 146 Dr Ronan Lambe Jim Culloty IRE 56) VIEUX LION ROUGE (FR) 7-10-05 146 Prof Caroline Tisdall & John Gent David Pipe 57) HOME FARM (IRE) 9-10-04 145 Chris Jones Henry de Bromhead IRE 58) MON PARRAIN (FR) 10-10-04 145 David Maxwell Racing Limited Paul Nicholls 59) THE ROMFORD PELE (IRE) 9-10-04 145 Trembath & Outhart Rebecca Curtis Rebecca Curtis: The Cleeve was meant to be just a little spin round for The Romford Pele and as he ran so well Noel (Fehily) said about the World Hurdle, but as he is not qualified for the Pertemps we might give him a spin in the Coral Cup. If he came out of that fresh and well he would run in the Grand National. He would get the trip and the ground would be fine, it is just a case of whether he jumps well enough, but I don't think you have to be a fantastic jumper as the fences are not what they were. 60) BISHOPS ROAD (IRE) 8-10-03 144 Alan Halsall Kerry Lee 61) KNOCK HOUSE (IRE) 7-10-03 144 Tim Radford Mick Channon Mick Channon: Knock House is in the Crabbie's Grand National and is very well. Tim is keen to run and it is a question of whether we go to Cheltenham or somewhere else with him beforehand. He is a very good jumper normally and just clipped the top of a downhill fence at Sandown which took his legs away. He has come out of that race in good form and is well entered up. I expected his weight in the Grand National would be at the lower end of the 10st range. 62) OPEN HEARTED 9-10-03 144 Craig Buckingham Dan Skelton 63) SHOTGUN PADDY (IRE) 9-10-03 144 Axom (XXXVI) Emma Lavelle Emma Lavelle: The reality is we are looking at the Eider for him next and for us to run at Aintree we'd need something approaching a Red Maurader year. Paddy wouldn't know he was born with 10st 2lb on his back as he's usually got top weight. I think he'd get in, too, but there's lots to consider. It's a lovely weight but we'll just have to see what happens. 64) ALVARADO (IRE) 11-10-02 143 William & Angela Rucker Fergal O'Brien Fergal O'Brien: I was delighted to finish fourth with Alvarado again and win £52,000. It will be the same preparation as last year - we will keep him fresh and he will start off at Doncaster on February 24. He is a very good horse and we keep him in a routine. Fingers crossed, as you need an enormous amount of luck with the Grand National. 65) HIGHLAND LODGE (IRE) 10-10-02 143 Bowes Lodge Stables James Moffatt Phil Smith: I think realistically horses on 10st 2lb will get in the race and if you are on 10st 1lb or 10st my advice is to get running and get winning because by doing so you will get to the top of your weight division. Pineau De Re (10st 2lb) was one of three or four horses whose weight I adjusted. He would normally have been off 10st and is on 10st 2lb. I also adjusted another horse with course form, the Becher winner Highland Lodge. 66) MAGGIO (FR) 11-10-02 143 Douglas Pryde/James Beaumont Patrick Griffin IRE 67) PERFECT CANDIDATE (IRE) 9-10-02 143 ISL Recruitment Fergal O'Brien 68) PINEAU DE RE (FR) 13-10-02 143 John Provan Dr Richard Newland Phil Smith: I think realistically horses on 10st 2lb will get in the race and if you are on 10st 1lb or 10st my advice is to get running and get winning because by doing so you will get to the top of your weight division. Pineau De Re (10st 2lb) was one of three or four horses whose weight I adjusted. He would normally have been off 10st and is on 10st 2lb. Dr Richard Newland: We are hoping that he gets into the race and I would be amazed if he didn't on the recent history of it. If he does get in he will be off a weight that most jockeys can't do, so that is another issue. He is a very good horse and for whatever reason he didn't fire last year. This year I can't really explain and he is going into the race in similar form as when he won it. If you didn't see he was 13 you would be really hopeful. He probably goes to Chepstow for a Pertemps qualifier in 10 days' time, but he is not entered in the final and he won't run after that before the National as it's too close to Aintree. He has fallen twice in the Becher but completed the National twice. Everything has to go right for him and if it does he might be a player. 69) PRESENT VIEW 8-10-02 143 Sir Chips Keswick Jamie Snowden Jamie Snowden: We need 29 to come out so it will be touch and go if he gets in. We'll run him in a novice hurdle to get him back on the right track. You can ignore his run in the Paddy Power as it was a standing start and he wasn't interested in doing that. He's always had a quirk and when he was running well we'd kept it under wraps but just recently it has reared its ugly head since his injury. Jumping is his forte, he'd be some ride around there and I see no reason not to aim for it. 70) BALLY BEAUFORT (IRE) 8-10-01 142 Rob Rexton Nigel Twiston-Davies Nigel Twiston-Davies: Bally Beaufort (10st 1lb) is a novice who stays and jumps well and he is more exciting than the others. 71) BENBENS (IRE) 11-10-01 142 Sarah Such & C G Paletta Nigel Twiston-Davies 72) CAUSE OF CAUSES (USA) 8-10-01 142 J P McManus Gordon Elliott IRE Gordon Elliott: Ucello Conti (10st 8lb) and Cause Of Causes (10st 1lb) would be my main ones for the race. 73) DOUBLE SEVEN (IRE) 10-10-01 142 J P McManus Martin Brassil Martin Brassil: It's only a good weight if you get in, so we'll have to wait and see. He's grand and came out of his run over hurdles the other day A1. We'll have to start looking at alternatives now (to Aintree). He's a good ground horse, so his season is only just beginning. 74) MIDNIGHT PRAYER 11-10-01 142 The Legends Partnership Alan King 75) MOUNTAINOUS (IRE) 11-10-01 142 Hartley Phillips Roseff Shields Kerry Lee 76) ROYALE KNIGHT 10-10-01 142 Chris Stedman & R J Corsan Dr Richard Newland 77) BLESS THE WINGS (IRE) 11-10-00 141 Adrian Butler/S P O'Connor Gordon Elliott IRE 78) BROADWAY BUFFALO (IRE) 8-10-00 141 Jo Tracey David Pipe David Pipe: Broadway Buffalo (10st) will probably not get in the National but he is going to Haydock Park this weekend. 79) CORRIN WOOD (IRE) 9-10-00 141 Dermot Hanafin Robert Rose Ian Whitfield Donald McCain 80) DARE TO ENDEAVOUR 9-10-00 141 Aidan Ryan Eric McNamara IRE 81) EMPEROR'S CHOICE (IRE) 9-10-00 141 The Bellamy Partnership Venetia Williams 82) SPLASH OF GINGE 9-10-00 141 John Neild Nigel Twiston-Davies 83) ZIGA BOY (FR) 7-10-00 141 Axom LI Alan King 84) GAS LINE BOY (IRE) 10-9-13 140 The Three Graces Jim Best 85) GRAY HESSION (IRE) 9-9-13 140 Alan Gray Jonjo O'Neill 86) MILBOROUGH (IRE) 10-9-13 140 Helen Cross Ian Duncan 87) BOB FORD (IRE) 9-9-12 139 The JJ Partnership Rebecca Curtis 88) NIGHT IN MILAN (IRE) 10-9-12 139 Richard Collins Keith Reveley 89) OUR FATHER (IRE) 10-9-12 139 The Ives & Johnson Families Gordon Elliott IRE 90) ROGUE ANGEL (IRE) 8-9-12 139 Gigginstown House Stud Mouse Morris IRE Mouse Morris: I'd love to run Rogue Angel if he got in - I'd nearly ride him myself! 91) RUSSE BLANC (FR) 9-9-12 139 Mark Jackson Kerry Lee 92) SEABASS (IRE) 13-9-12 139 Gunners Syndicate Ted Walsh IRE Katie Walsh: It is a shame that Seabass (9st 12lb) is unlikely to get a run in this year's Crabbie's Grand National but it is being realistic.
