Every year since my Dad got me into racing aged 5, I've picked 2 or 3 fancied ones and a couple of outsiders, here's my record:

Nice record keeping. Well done
Report Steamship April 3, 2015 11:38 PM BST
On a positive note you should be at least 30 points in profit on the race to level stakes. Now if you can do that on all the other races in the year jobs a gudun

I also get the feeling that The Druids Nephew will go close without winning.
Report stevo1 April 3, 2015 11:54 PM BST
Hope you right re Druids winning, him and Rocky 2 main bets, good luck.

I had a period from 2002-2005 (I'll admit I was backing 6-8) where I had the second horse all four years. A particular annoyance was 2004 where I had the second and third. My most bizarre one was 1998 where I fancied Banjo (who fell at the first) and Earth Summit who won.
Report marychain1 April 4, 2015 8:55 AM BST
I think Rocky Creek will come second

Loved reading that list Arazi, some great old names on there, all from roughly my era as well. For the record, here's mine. 82 to 90 were on the day picks rather than bets, then from 91 I started betting, and had an Antepost horse, and a day of the race horse. Things got a bit messy when I joined here, with loads bet, but I've still kept up that tradition of one big Antepost bet when the weights came out, and an on the day main bet.

1982 Artistic Prince - Fell 1st
1983 Venture to Cognac - 8th
1984 Two Swallows - 6th
1985 Solihull Sport - Fell 1st
1986 Acarine - Brought Down
1987 The Ellier - 7th
1988 Repington - Refused
1989 Bob Tisdall - Refused
1990 Uncle Merlin - Unseated Rider

then on to the antepost, and day of race bets

1991 Seagram (both) Won
1992 Party Politics (both) Won
1993 Cried like a baby too
1994 Run For Free - "Carried Out"   Just So - 2nd
1995 Deep Bramble (NR)    Lusty Light - Fell 1st
1996 Deep Bramble - Pulled Up    Antonin  - Unplaced
1997 Naathen Lad (both) Unplaced
1998 Him Of Praise - Refused    Banjo - Fell 1st
1999 Hanakham - NR    Coome Hill - Last
2000 Earthmover (both) Fell
2001 Smarty (both) 2nd
2002 Ackzo - Pulled Up    Inn At The Top Fell 1st
2003 Shotgun Willy - Pulled Up    Ballinclay King - Pulled Up
2004 Be My Manager NR    Takagi - Unseated Rider
2005 Colnel Rayburn (both) - Pulled Up
2006 Inca Trail - 8th     Colnel Rayburn - Pulled Up
2007 Monkerhostin - Refused    Liberthine - 5th
2008 Character Building NR    Philson Run - Brought Down
2009 State Of Play (both) 4th
2010 Maljimar - Fell    The Package - Unseated Rider
2011 Roll Along NR    State of Play 4th
2012 Seabass (both) 3rd
2013 Call The Police NR   Imperial Commander - Unplaced
2014 Double Seven  - 3rd     Last Time D'Albain - Brought Down

Had Neptune Collonges when he won, but he was 4th choice, and a few quid ew on Camelot Knight at a big price when he placed, but still more First Fence Fallers than winners Laugh

2007 Mckelvey 2nd Another 50yds and he would have won! I was stood just after the finishing line and was nearly crying.
My mother in law had asked me if Silver Birch had a chance, she had drawn it in the sweep, I told her to swap it as he wanted soft ground!

2015 The Package is the best handicapped horse in the race. Prob won't get in, if he does then he prob won't stay.
No strong fancies this year, probably just as well.... Laugh
THESE PEOPLE THAT PICK 6 IN THE RACE THEN CROW ABOUT HAVING THE WINNER REALLY HACK ME OFF!
Report sixtwosix April 5, 2015 11:16 PM BST
If you pick 6 , and one them wins as per   Mon Mone , Neptune Collonges , Auroras Encore or Pineau De Re ........it would be a satisfactory system.
Report Facts April 6, 2015 1:17 AM BST
Winner doesn't have to be an outsider. If you pick six, and one wins at ' only ' 11/1. You make 6pts profit. That's doubling your money. A 100% profit on turnover.

Ok Fabulous, you win the Unluckiest trophy!

At the moment I am down to a shortlist of 10:

The Druids Nephew, Balthazar King, Alvarado, Cause Of Causes (pick this one AP!!), Mon Parrain, Oscar Time, Lord Windermere, Spring Heeled, Unioniste, Gas Line Boy.

Need to whittle that lot down to 5 max - and I don't give a **** about trends!!
