and this years main bet will be The Druids Nephew - get your cash on it being 2nd now!!!!!!!!!!
On a positive note you should be at least 30 points in profit on the race to level stakes. Now if you can do that on all the other races in the year jobs a gudun
I also get the feeling that The Druids Nephew will go close without winning.

I had a period from 2002-2005 (I'll admit I was backing 6-8) where I had the second horse all four years. A particular annoyance was 2004 where I had the second and third. My most bizarre one was 1998 where I fancied Banjo (who fell at the first) and Earth Summit who won.

Loved reading that list Arazi, some great old names on there, all from roughly my era as well. For the record, here's mine. 82 to 90 were on the day picks rather than bets, then from 91 I started betting, and had an Antepost horse, and a day of the race horse. Things got a bit messy when I joined here, with loads bet, but I've still kept up that tradition of one big Antepost bet when the weights came out, and an on the day main bet.

Had Neptune Collonges when he won, but he was 4th choice, and a few quid ew on Camelot Knight at a big price when he placed, but still more First Fence Fallers than winners

Fell. I was chatting some girl up on the night before the race and after telling her about my tipster credentials (I'm sure she was impressed) she said she would have a bet on it. I saw her after the race and she totally blanked me. stupid cow! 1995 Party Politics 2nd. Wondered if I would ever get the winner...... 1996 Young Hustler 5th 1997 Lo Stregone P/up 1998 Banjo Fell 1999 Double Thriller Fell 2000 Red Marauder Fell. I was stood just after the finishing line and was nearly crying. My mother in law had asked me if Silver Birch had a chance, she had drawn it in the sweep, I told her to swap it as he wanted soft ground! 2008 Simon unseated I now hardly mention the race to family, friends or acquaintances. 2009 Butlers Cabin 7th 2010 State of Play 3rd 2011 Chief Dan George 17th 2012 Neptune Fookin Collonges GTFI 1st see my thread on " horse ante post" if you don't believe me! won a small fortune! 2013 Cappa Bleu 2nd The Package antepost never ran. 2014 The Package 12th Lost a small fortune! Actually built a book around 14 runners that made me a big profit. Got nowhere near. If I'd picked another 14 then I still wouldn't have got the winner! 2015 The Package is the best handicapped horse in the race. Prob won't get in, if he does then he prob won't stay. No strong fancies this year, probably just as well.... THESE PEOPLE THAT PICK 6 IN THE RACE THEN CROW ABOUT HAVING THE WINNER REALLY HACK ME OFF!

Winner doesn't have to be an outsider. If you pick six, and one wins at ' only ' 11/1. You make 6pts profit. That's doubling your money. A 100% profit on turnover.
