not on my radar for the race a agood few sloopy slow jumps but you never no.GL
By:
He already makes the line up maam. He's fell in the last 2 renewals, but I suppose his last run was very encouraging. Ran well in the Kim Muir last year too before his exit at The Canal Turn. Threw in a stinker at Cheltenham in December, but the going was desperate that day.
If you go for him, good luck, 100's seems tad generous. |
By:
Yes his jumping can be abit sloppy at times but if he gets into a rhythm then you never know. What do you reckon about the extra distance? Potential problem? I'll be having some of the 100s though, seems decent value.
By:
i backed him last 2 nationals.one for a good sum.i dont think the fences suit him at aintree for some reason.i wont be baking him again.id love to see noel glynn winning it but its hard to see it.
By:
Surely he's worth a small punt at a huge price? It is a little off putting that he has failed to complete the last twice. He is entered at sandown for the bet 365 gold cup on the 27th April? Could he go for that instead?
By:
I've backed him last couple of years. His price is very big if he takes to it, but I've got a feeling he hates the race. Last year he never jumped at all and seemed to be trying to refuse.
Watch the race back and make your own mind up but I think this isn't his race |
By:
exactly what i seen villa boy.
By:
The horse can't jump. Won't be touching this one
By:
he can jump(cheltenham 2 yr in a row?) but maybe not the gn fences for some reason
By:
Yes I can understand why people are skeptical about the horses jumping but at 100/1 that is taken into account. If he takes to the fences after some more thorough schooling then I think he could run a fair race.
By:
got Roselier blood in the dams side so he should stay all day.
he was hampered that's why he fell last year. I've have 'lumped on' with two quid at 130's. ![]() |
By:
Yes he will definitely stay the trip, it's just the jumping which can be sketchy. Will he even go for the race? He's entered for the bet 365 gold cup at sandown?
By:
if he runs ill have to have a small bet.i was watching him from the start last year and he had to be ridden into every fence,i didnt see him being hampered?..he will stay all day..
By:
True, he didnt find much fluency before coming to grief, one thing is for certain. he wont be 100/1 at ladbrokes at the off!
By:
2 yr ago he was backed into 12/1 or that.i was on at fancy prices here.was in the stand.fell at 1st!
By:
Yeah I remember him being well backed that year. 12/1 2 years ago and now 100/1. How times change!
By:
Agree Kavvie. He jumps Cheltenham well when ridden up with the pace and has also jumped ok in Ireland, but there definitely seems to be something with him and the Aintree fences/experience. I felt he was too young in first year he tried and obviously only made one fence, but last year was a huge disappointment. As I say, for those considering make your own mind up but I don't think being hampered made any difference, he didn't want to be there imo. After two bad experiences I can hardly believe he'll be delighted to be back there again!! I only say this because I was gutted on the day, and watched it back a few times after to try and see what went wrong with him.
100/1 is a massive price "if" he takes to it, and he's well weighted, but for once I will be swerving him this year. |
By:
The stats are well against him also as only one horse has fallen in two preceding Nationals before winning the race in more than 40 years - Little Polveir 1989, and he at least relished the course and race as he fell when leading five out in one of those Nationals.
By:
Kavvie - even at Cheltenham on his last run there his jumping was horrendous. Really couldn't touch it.
By:
His run at Cheltenham before his last one there sorry.
By:
Yeah he always goes better from the front and his jumping isn't naturally the best. Perhaps it might be asking too much to win but could run into a place if all falls right!
By:
there would be some party in quin if he won it!!
By:
Oh yes, I'd be the first one at the party if he wins! We are all talking about the national but he is entered for the bet 365 chase at sandown? Think he will go that route?
By:
maybe.only one who knows for sure is noel.
By:
This double entry has really thrown a spanner into my work.
By:
Ok, I threw some speculative minimum darts at three horses a wee while back and one of them landed on this guy.
I am not keen on his jumping either really and wonder why they haven't targeted a race that suits front runners that can often get into a good rhythm if confident, the Scottish national being the obvious one. |
By:
Yeah I know what you mean, I genuinely believe he could go well from the front at this years Grand National if he gets into a good rhythm at his fences. We know he will stay so that's not a problem, yet for some reason he has shown a considerable dislike to aintree so far, but if he can take to it then surely he'd be a cracking bet for the national
By:
Love this horse always have, backed last couple of cheltenhams and nationals. Never seems to be in the same groove at aintree but has been slow to come to hand this year and could be peaking at liverpool rather than tailing off.
I have had few quid again, cant do any harm at 100s. |
By:
Yes that could be a good point mate, perhaps he is coming into form at just the right time. Do you think he will target this race rather than the race at sandown that he is also entered for?
By:
if i knew he was def going for aintree a few quid with lads at 100/1 ew wouldnt go amiss
By:
The 66/1 Non Runner no bet and 5 places seems the best option from Bet 365!
By:
im restricted with them like many others.if i looked for 50ew id be offered something like 2.73euro ew!!
By:
noel stated it runs in scottish national if ground too soft at aintree(todays irish examiner)
By:
You must be winning plenty then mate! what's the forcast looking like? If it rains then we can forget about the national.
By:
I like this horse as well. I completely agree that his jumping has been poor at times, especially on recent efforts but at the odds I'd be more than willing to take the risk that he might not complete, because if he gets round I can see him being right there.
By:
BetVtor now going 6 places 1/4 odds on grand national. Non runner no bet.
Becauseicouldntsee 66/1 |
By:
Yes if he picks up his jumping then he should be there or thereabouts. I hope he front runs and gets into a good rhythm, could be potentially hard to peg back.
By:
Agree completely. The 66`s and 6 places with bet victor looks appealing. Especially with NRNB. Il be having a modest e/w punt on it. Agree that his jumping can be sketchy but has a bit more going for it than some others at shorter prices. GL with your investment!
By:
it looks like this one is running.the 100/1 is too tempting to leave, specially for a horse who was 12/1 two years ago.and hasnt regressed.i hear hes been extensively schooled over aintree type fences so i had a bit ew today with lads at the price..
