Personally think the weights are a disgrace.
If TB had got his true rating there would only be 30 horses in the handicap proper. So the weights are copmpressed to make it more competitive and to encourage the best horse to run. The best horses run faster and are braver, that's what needs to be corrected not just the effing starting position. |

i agree roobuck smith has lost the plot its a handicap and horses should be weighted accordingly also top weight should be 12st but that will never happen
|
By:
Ain't going to have a bet in the race but 25s for TB if you think he'll be suited by the race is massive.
|
By:
i have bet the last two seconds and have had a good bet at 20's i hoped he would have max of 10-12 dont really fancy anything else
|
By:
Other TB you are talking about I guess?

My finger was hovering over the SUBMIT button at 11.29 as there was an 11.30 embargo.

With Chanting here,,
Teaforthree is the one. A battler, a stayer, a big scopey type and will relish better ground and a marathon trip. He reminds me of Lord Gylene. |

Tidal Bay,Midnight Chase and Magnanimity look interesting.
|
By:
My first thoughts were Jessie's Dream, Midnight Chase & Magnanimity but the latter hasn't won over 3m+ since his P2P win
|
By:
^^However Magnanimity did run a cracker in the RSA keeping on really well over the 3 miles. I think good ground will help his chances.

What A Friend is an intended runner and he could end up being topweight (AR and IC seem unlikely to run in my mind)
This would mean that a whole bunch of horses would end up carrying more than ideal. If this happened then these would be some of the weights: Prince de Beauchene 11-8 Seabass 11-7 Ballabriggs 11-5 Midnight Chase 11-5 Sunnyhill Boy 11-5 Teaforthree 11-4 Join Together 11-3 Of course this does not preclude them from winning but it does make it tougher and some of these are short in the betting I will be laying them |
By:
How do you know What a Friend is an intended runner? I'm not saying he isn't.

heard PFN on 5Live last night

Nice one, thanks Rick.

What did we think of the Teaforthree run at Haydock?
|
By:
hasn't he got some ridiculous mark like 155 for the National? very harsh imo if that's right

Rebecca Curtis believes a combination of a big weight, unsuitable ground and track conditions caused Teaforthree to under-perform in the Betfred Grand National Trial at Haydock.
The Welsh National runner-up was expected to enhance his claims for the John Smith's Grand National at Aintree but finished a well-beaten 10th of the 11 finishers on Saturday. However, Curtis retains the faith in the winner of the four-mile National Hunt Chase at Cheltenham last March and will send him straight to Aintree without another run. "He didn't enjoy the sticky ground. It was tough for him to get his feet out of it and I wouldn't call Haydock a real jumping track," said the Pembrokeshire trainer. "He didn't have a overly hard race. I think he'll go straight to the National, we'll have a job getting another race into him before then and you don't know how much the Welsh National took out of him. "He'll go on soft ground but he hated that drying out, sticky ground. Carrying top weight on that ground just told on him in the end." |
