Drives me insane.

Run this top class horse over 2miles until he has shown on a racetrack that he needs further.

Its like Spirit River all over again.

Spirit River would not stay 3 miles in a parachute.

FB has shown so much speed in his career, the connections seem to look at breeding and think he is a stayer.

Sad

Wonder where they will go next year? Jewson?

No one with a really decent horse goes for the Jewson through choice. Peddler's only went there this year because the wheels fell off the Arkle bandwagon, and Sir Des Champs was there because the owner had First Lieutenant in the RSA. Much more likely to be aimed at the RSA.

Seemed to stay fine to me, just ran into one on the day

I think he stayed fine too (though may be better over less, though I suspect he is a stayer) just given a pretty ordinary ride. As soon as he made the error Johnson put him in the lead, making him a massive target.

He's a curious one. He looked regressive to me through the season (for which I was slated on the Cheltenham forum) - but his (visually) best performance was his first, second his second, etc. Maybe he was too forward? Maybe he hadn't fully recovered from his injury in time for Aintree?

Whatever, I find it hard to believe the horse that beat Simonsig so well at Sandown was the same horse that turned up last week.

Let's hope chasing is the making of him because in his bumper and first couple of hurdles he looked like he could be a star.
