Had a closer look at this one and he seems to tick a lot of the right boxes for me, but the two Ps in his form concern me

Ok he ran no race at Wetherby and you can always forgive a no show, but the Haydock run concerns me

Travelled like much the best horse in the race until a mistake at one fence down the finishing straight then pulled up very quickly before the next

Anyone know what happened here?

Not even the trainer would appear to know. Stopped like he had been shot even allowing for the ground

Travelled like a winner last time and stopped like it was shot. But iv had a few quid on at big price

Was given a very tender ride, and taken all the way round the outside for the best ground. I thought they just pulled it up quick once they knew it wasnt winning as the priority is Aintree.

Its one of the ones I want right onside.

Nice to see a few fans of Always Right. Found this on the web and hopefully it is all legitimate as it could easily be the answer to why he was pulled up sharpish on his last two runs. The article explains how he had a soft palate/breathing problem and that they have had it seen to. IF (and it is a big IF) the operation has worked I think he can win this. More than happy to take a chance at 33/1

Done a comprehensive blog piece on a number of the runners (link above). This is my verdict on Always Right from the piece:

This is another runner who I have supported (and selected on the blog) throughout the season, and despite being pulled up in his last two runs I'm really keen on his chances. The reason for this is because of this article: http://www.google.com/hostednews/ukpress/article/ALeqM5jvniUpvGL68ZLXQ7bP_TB-UMbGlw?docId=N0111231332763844886A
Essentially, the trainer has discovered he has had a breathing problem which they have now fixed. If you can, watch his last couple of races, his wind problem stops him dead in his  tracks as soon as he makes a mistake at a fence as if something was amiss. At Haydock last time he turned for home going just as well as Giles Cross before being pulled up sharply. Had he been able to breathe he could have won the race.
With his proven ability to jump and stay, as seen in last year's Scottish National, I think he could outrun his odds in a big way IF the cuaterising of his soft palate has done the trick (in the way that it has done for many horses including Bobs Worth). He acts on any ground and is built to win a race like this. At the prices I'm happy to take my chances that the operation has worked. He looks a great bet.

Agreed - at 50+/1 he looks great value - was cantering over the field until he encountered a problem last time...the fact that they appear to have identified and resolved it is great to hear...would be 20s or less if the problem had not occurred from his early season form...a value saver..
