Which makes Uncle Junior no. 40 by my reckoning.
Report PeteTheBloke March 15, 2012 9:03 PM GMT
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the following don't qualify because they haven't placed in
the first 4 home in a 3m chase:

Schindler's Gold

The following are in the same position but still hold entries in the next few days and might qualify:
Minella Theatre
Report PeteTheBloke March 17, 2012 11:52 AM GMT

Gold Cup hero among 59 left in Grand National

By Lee Mottershead 1:51PM 20 MAR 2012 SYNCHRONISED could yet bid for an historic double in the John Smith's Grand National after the Betfred Cheltenham Gold Cup winner was one of 59 horses left in the sport's most famous race.

A total of 18 horses were taken out of the £975,000 handicap, but top weight Synchronised and last year's winner Ballabriggs remain engaged in the Aintree marathon following
Report The Gopher March 22, 2012 8:47 AM GMT
The RP says that the two Wylie horses may be Willie Mullin's only two runners.  If that turns out to be the case that is another four out of the top forty.

A reduced field is looking more and more likely.
Report PeteTheBloke March 24, 2012 3:09 PM GMT
I'm trying to get someone to stick their neck out and float the names of some possible withdrawals.
I don't read enough background information to have a worthwhile opinion. Fancy making a list?
Report Rod Tidwell March 24, 2012 4:02 PM GMT
In my mind the following are all somewhere between 50-50 to run and not lining up (from top 40)
Midnight Chase
Burton Port
Quel Esprit
Roberto Goldback
Deep Purple
Always Right
Rare Bob
The Midnight Club
Quiscover Fontaine

wouldnt be at all surprised to see some of those that are 50+ in the lists getting in
Report PeteTheBloke March 24, 2012 9:20 PM GMT
Thanks Rod. A few there I had marked myself.
Report JOCI Club March 25, 2012 11:00 AM BST
Is Le Beau Bai a likely runner? When I last looked was 110 on here, which could be huge if a confirmed runner, and we get a bit of precipitation in the next couple of weeks.
Report Rod Tidwell March 25, 2012 12:20 PM BST
you would have to think Le Beau Bai will only run if there is soft in the going description...and even good to soft wouldnt come close to suiting
Report theboyfrommatebeleland March 25, 2012 7:44 PM BST
Alfa Beat looks unlikely to run
Report PeteTheBloke March 26, 2012 10:45 PM BST
Thanks for the info theboyfrommatebeleland.

Any particular reason or report?

Predictions for any of the top 40 to come out at the 48 hour decs tomorrow?

I'm pretty sure Le Beau Bai will come out, the ground won't be soft enough.
Report Fabulous April 12, 2012 10:46 AM BST
Le Beau Bai, and Always Waining taken out.
Report Steamship April 12, 2012 1:42 PM BST
Really pleased that we got the 40 in
Report PeteTheBloke April 12, 2012 2:14 PM BST
I think Saddlers Storm is a non-runner (as opposed to a balloted horse). Not sure about Ballyvesey.

Anyone know for certain?
Report The Gopher April 12, 2012 7:23 PM BST
I read somewhere that Saddlers Storm was not qualified although I cannot recall/locate where.

If this is correct it I think all bets will be refunded.
Report PeteTheBloke April 12, 2012 7:26 PM BST
If he didn't qualify then the money stays in the bookie's satchel, I'm afraid.
Report strontium April 13, 2012 1:25 PM BST
I though non-qualfied horses were taken out on March 20th?
Report PeteTheBloke April 13, 2012 3:14 PM BST
They were supposed to be Stront. But Gopher sounded like he knew what he was talking about
so I didn't like to correct him. I laid Saddler's (£2) and BF didn't refund the bettor, so I assume
he was a non-runner and not a ballot job.
