The Rules

There will be 8 fortnightly rounds, 16 weeks in total.
Each round and each week within rounds will begin on a Sunday and finish on a Saturday.
Each team will have 8 selections per week, one from each player, duplicate selections are allowed but no duplicate selections within teams at any time. Players must use their 1 selection per week, it cannot be carried over to the other week in the round.
10pts win or 5pts EW on British, Irish & French racing plus Dubai World Cup day, selected any day, Sunday through Saturday, the week ends on the last Saturday race. If selection is posted without specifying stake then 10pts win assumed.
Settled at SP, EW terms broadly as industry standard but enhanced, see list below.
Selections must be posted before scheduled race time. On Saturdays there will be a 3pm cut-off for selections, that is you may pick in any race after that but it has to be posted by 3pm.
Once you have posted a selection you are not allowed to change it or the stake, unless it becomes a non-runner or is a team duplicate.
Non Runners - that team member may choose again for that week.
If you are selecting in a race on Saturday, in the event of a non-runner, you will automatically have 10pts win on the fav in the same race as your selection.
However, you may replace your non-runner with any new selection, provided you do so prior to the race time of the original selection and adhere to the Saturday 3pm cut-off.
If your selection runs after the 3pm Saturday cut-off, and the race in question is abandoned, you will automatically have 10pts Win on the favourite in the next available race at whichever meeting, or in the event of no such races available, it will go on the immediately previous race run.
If there are jt or co-favs then lowest racecard no. is chosen.
Reserve selections are not allowed, nor is posting "just-in-case"  selections for team mates that may or may not turn up.

Wildcards are available to cover holiday or other absence and covering for non-runners.
Team captains will be responsible for managing any wildcards required, there are no restrictions on their use, but please try and share them around so that no one individual is always claiming them. Please also name who the wildcard is for when posting.

Teams will start the week from a baseline of 0pts. This equates to 8 losing selections and/or non-selections.
Subsequent scores will be added to this baseline plus return of the winning part of the stake (10pts for win and EW winner, 5pts for EW placed). All scores count.
Scores will be accumulated through the fortnight, there will be no points awarded for weekly finishing positions.

Points structure for overall comp:
Fortnightly winners will receive 10pts, runners-up - 7pts, 3rd - 5pts, 4th - 3pts, 5th - 2pts, 6th - 1pt, 7th - 0pts

Place terms for this competition:
1-4 runners - Win only
5-7 runners - quarter odds 2 places
8-11 runners - fifth odds 3 places
12-15 runners - quarter odds 3 places, all races not just hcaps
16-19 runners - quarter odds 4 places, all races not just hcaps
20+ runners - quarter odds 5 places, all races

Round 8 - 7 Jun to 20 Jun

For newcomers, here is a quick summary of the most important points, take a few minutes to read the full rules though please!

Your selections must be posted on the "Team Tipster Comp 2026 - Round * Week * Selections" thread. (There will be a new one every week)
I will accept them on the News And Scores thread, but not on your team thread, unless it's copied over by a team mate in time.

You make 1 Win or EW selection per week, on British, Irish or French Horse Racing, plus the Dubai World Cup day.

You cannot duplicate a selection made by a team mate, you can have the same selection as that from another team.

You must post before the scheduled race time, no later than 1.59 for a 2pm race, even if that race is running late.

You may select any day from Sunday through to Saturday, your Saturday selection must be posted before 3pm.

If you have a non-runner, you may select again for that week, except there are special rules on a Saturday.

If you cannot make a selection in any one week, let your team know and they can use a wildcard selection on your behalf.
