At one stage during the afternoon we were top, but inspired picks elswhere meant we dropped to 3rd, an improvement at least. As werbie said, we are still in it, but will probably need to win 2 rounds at least. Good luck this week everyone.

Unfortunately the one I did go with blew out. Dyonisos could have been favourite yesterday on the back of his good run at the Craven meeting, and although he was up in class it was theoretically a weaker race in terms of actual ratings.

The trainer blamed the ground, but whatever the market vibes weren't great beforehand having drifted to bigger than 5-1 on here just before the off.

4 rounds to go still, but like Andrew says, we will need to win 2 or 3 to defend our crown successfully. Difficult but not impossible.

Unfortunately another major b*lls up from me, as on days when I have selections for my thread, I have a policy of selecting whichever is the biggest-priced selection for the competitions, which on Saturday was Royal Zabeel 40-1, and whilst I did abide by that policy for the naps league, having over-thought it about the draw, I opted for another of my selections for this, result: Royal Zabeel finished fifth (which I think would have got us some points), and the one I did opt for was fecking hopeless. Oh well, such is life...

I don't know if you've ever watched 'Lingo' on ITV, but if a pair of contestants in the play-off round can no longer mathematically win, Adil Ray will say to them..."You're now playing for some Lingo pride".

Well I'm not sure we're quite at that stage yet but maybe it's time to throw caution to the wind:

WD to Mr Spreadsheet and Lucky Luciano (wildcard) with points in the previous round. Defintely not our year and with a few exceptions, we haven't done well to date, in fact, my input has been abysmmal, without doubt worst ever for the pins. No excuses, simply poor selections. We probably need to win all the remaining rounds and hope results go our way to hold on the the trophy, but the fat lady hasn't started singing yet, so fingers crossed.

C.C thanks for the change of selection and wildcard, the latter being our only points scored and that was by virtue of a NR, replaced with the favourite, but never look a gift horse in the mouth

Looks like we're playing to avoid the wooden spoon that would be as first for the Pins, but it simply hasn't been our day on occasions. China Castle a 3rd and me a 2nd yesterday, either of these winning would have given us the 1 point instead of the team above us and reversed the lower 2 places overall.
