Best performance of the day was pcgoody who advances 7 places into 23rd with a very pleasing 5/1 find.

Runner up was china castle with a 5/2 success.

Just missing out was nawshan with a decent price effort.


Division profit for the day = £4.13

17 winners today compared to 11 losers.

13 people picking 1 horse makes it a bit of a farce and is surely not right. This is an area that needs addressing. To make it more of a competition and less farcical. No duplications must become a rule, just my opinion.

Nawshan - I know where you are coming from - I’m an infrequent visitor to the premier Division and can honestly say I don’t particularly enjoy it.
With the other divisions there’s always more to play for be it chance of the top 5 for promotion or battling against the relegation trap door.

With the premiership especially if like this month when it will be a tall order to catch the leader, the main focus becomes avoiding relegation so there’s an inevitable tendancy to pick the short ones.

I think you’ve just got to accept this is how it is, your suggestion ie like the last day rules would solve this , but would be a nightmare to police and you’d get a scramble at 5pm the night before to pick the short price one.

If I was to make a suggestion  ( for premiership only)  I’d say when the daily thread goes up name say 2 or 3 horses that can’t be selected by anyone that day ie the obvious 1/3 shots etc.

If people want to pick the shortest priced horse of the day (as many of them do day in, day out), then that is their prerogative surely.

After all, none of them ever win the Division and they all still struggle to end a month in profit, so it's a good thing for those of us that aspire (but mostly fail ) to get our name on ud's Premier Division Monthly Winner and Rolling Yearly Winner honours boards.

None of the other tables he puts up are of any import imho.

You shouldn't be allowed to pick 66-1 winners early in the month. Makes it a farce. Just my opinion.

It's just a plan he is currently following (he picks and chooses among the shorties as best he can). It may be a silly plan, even a stupid one, but it's a plan, it's his (current) plan, and he should be allowed freely to go with it. Nuff said.

Seriously, of course competitors should be allowed to do what they want, they've earned the right by getting promoted to the top table. It just so happens the last two months, the comp done and dusted early on, so why wouldn't other concentrate on staying up for next month? Incidentally I've been analysing the results for a few years now to see which odds groupings are most successful. Odds on, Evens to 15/8, 2/1 to 9/2, 5/1 to 17/2, 9/1 to 14/1, 15/1 to 22/1 &         Above 22/1. Will share results on another thread if anybody is interested.
